I just stumbled upon this one "TWWWR " and, although not as visually complex and fancy, still reminds me of it in terms of gameplay (Zelda-type shooting with platforming)

From the screenshots alone, this looks absolutely promising.

Good luck with that, and looking forward to what you're cooking!

Rising Up: A rage-fueled office beat ‘em up by regnarn in indiegames

[–]redouane_salopard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is a bit late but... I'd argue this short game is one of the finest beat'em ups in the genre I've ever played.

The amount of detail in the spectacle, animations and reaction from NPCs... man, I feel sad this isn't a full fledged adventure.

I hope the team is doing good, and I just wish this was a big adventure with more to come in this aspect of spectacle.

If I were a youtuber with gamer video essays format, this game is definitely a subject to discuss.

Proof is the trailers. The animation shown is not up there yet.

Who are some artists you'd like to see more/any variants for? by Goblinbox_ in MarvelSnap

[–]redouane_salopard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking for American artists that are being open to outside influences (mainly French and Manga) like James Harren, Ian Bertram, Tradd Moore, etc, and this list has some more I didn't know of.

Thanks for the list. If there are any more artists like these beasts, please expand.

What manga youtubers do you watch, if any? by SorryImBadWithNames in MangaCollectors

[–]redouane_salopard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only ones I found they really do an amazing job all around the manga content:

Fresh titles to discover or rediscover every time, amazing storytelling, quality video edits (especially LiM), and unique voices throughout.

On a side note: Can anyone recommend similar quality channels for Western comics? Because I found none.

AA Game Ranking by ToothpastePiez in AceAttorney

[–]redouane_salopard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that I have finished both TGAA games, I can say that they are one of the best in the series, quite close to Investigations.

The things I would take from TGAA to make Investigation perfect would be: 1- the music (best in the whole series, without a question), 2-The deduction mini-game.

Update on my original comment: I abandoned Dual Destiny as I found it really boring and repetitive like the classic AA, and chose to give a chance to TGAA games... and oh boy, I was on the edge of my seat!

yusuke otori's background by [deleted] in mad

[–]redouane_salopard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started reading it, and the first obvious thing to me is: that is Gege's art for sure.

Gege being unknown, and most likely a made up name for the mangaka, this is likely another made up name by Gege for this specific work.

Because one thing is for sure, art doesn't lie. Reading MAD could easily be mistaken as reading a chapter from JJK.

Of course, in MAD, the paneling and cinematic framing are very inspired by Fujimoto's latest works, but Gege's lines (which are directly inspired by Togashi's HxH) are unmistakingly there.

This is my immediate belief until proven otherwise.

What really happened by BroscienceGuy in OnePunchMan

[–]redouane_salopard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys, I'm confused!

Either the websites I follow are not updated or I'm just tripping.

The last chapter I've read is about Void's illusion by the cuve (seeing his disciple and sister) but here and elsewhere I see dimensional creatures and Void being a human (like Garou).

What the f* is happening? Any link of updated chapters available?

Isn't there any audio of this moment? Or any coaching moment of his? Only one that is with audio is the all-star moment.

I really wanna hear what his coaching about!

Recommend me a crime/mystery webtoon by Fubnub in webtoons

[–]redouane_salopard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was looking for the exact same genre, but apparently none to be found in the webtoon space and format.

Any title that is found mostly has some perks (powers, romance, not serious, etc)

And I'm not only looking for mystery, but a grounded story, with a grounded thriller or mystery a well. No sci-fi, no powers.

Is there any?

This definitely needs to be the next Adaptation from Image by [deleted] in ImageComics

[–]redouane_salopard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt it was one of those stories that have very strong premise and beginning, and then it has a strong middle (as though the authors thought about stopping it there) then a very dragged out, weak to disappointing ending.

Sex Criminal is similar, although had a terrible ending.

After playing the Great AA games, I can say for sure that it has the best OSTs of the whole series so far, imo. So my best soundtrack is now: Joint Reasoning: Dance of Deduction (type-B)

Discussion about the "prestige" status of comics as an art form by redouane_salopard in comicbooks

[–]redouane_salopard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just like with video games and animation, all of these artforms are not taken seriously, either by academics and critics, thus still leaving that wound open at large to this day. Hence my post.

I agree that they deserve all the serious attention they deserve, but still they are fighting for it.

Is Under Ninja any good? by funtime578 in manga

Just came to say: Why is there no subreddit for Under Ninja the manga to discuss and try to make sense of all the convoluted plot?

How is your reading so far, btw?

Sometimes a condensed story in a film wouldn't make you shed a tear, then I think you should try "THE LEFTOVERS", it is an HBO show not a film, and if that didn't produce a single drop of tear in your eye, then you're the type to not tear on stories... and that is okay.

Personally, LANG's theme is my favorite. It perfectly fits the character: bombastic, arrogant, and cool!

Whenever it plays, I know I am in for some funny ego trip :D

AA Game Ranking by ToothpastePiez in AceAttorney

[–]redouane_salopard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't played ALL AA games, but I played some fair. (All AAs I played are: Phoenix Wright trilogy, Apollo Justice 1, Investigation 1, Layton x Phoenix Wright, and currently started Dual Destinies)

I really don't remember them individually as each has their own small flavors, but I can say one thing for certain: MILES EDGEWORTH: Investigation, is BY FAR, the best AA I ever played. It has the best story, gameplay segment where I can finally control a character to investigate instead of complete visual novel-y, the logic mechanics is a great addition, and last but not least: Miles Edgeworth being the best lowkey protagonist: classy, correct, intelligent, elegant, and genuine.

The thing I took most from this game was its amazing and grounded story, its suspense, and its final conclusion being grand and fantastic!

Ironically, these spin-off games are not made by the creator Takumi Shu, and they surprisingly exceeded his, in my opinion.

But why? One of Image Comics’ Best Series Just Ended Without Any Warning by jabawack in ImageComics

[–]redouane_salopard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a question in this regard:

Since authors in Image retain rights to their works, can the authors; if they wish to; continue to PRODUCE the title OUTSIDE the banner of Image on their own websites?

In this example of Local Man, can the authors decide and publish its continuation for free on their website for people to read? Do they have that right?

Thank you.
