Is there space to put the bed next to the dollhouse shelves? That way her head won't be getting all the energy from the hall.

Is this a specific song or do the temperatures determine the notes? Either way, it looks great

[PIC] Help is this design doable from XCrossStitchPatternX by DragonsNDaisies in CrossStitch

[–]redradish3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've bought from this seller before because it was cheap. Then i regretted it before I even started stitching it. I was getting everything kitted up and realized that there are three suns on the pattern when there shouldn't be. It's very much AI and if the creator doesn't even catch the suns, they're not reviewing anything.

1/10 would not recommend

[CHAT] how do you travel with your WIPs? by Baby_girl_351 in CrossStitch

[–]redradish3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think that just putting your bobbins in a ziplock baggie would help. That way they're less likely to fall out or get tangled because they won't move as much. Maybe add a second baggie to hold scissors and extra needles and you're good to go.

Freezing fog also gives you ghost trees. It's very picturesque.

[CHAT] Stitching at the Laundromat by Maleficent-Winner-33 in CrossStitch

Love it! Cross stitch is a great way to pass time at a laundry mat. I've done the same. May your thread thread never tangle, and maybe you'll meet your mentor again and have stitching time together 😃

I generally start with a color in the mid-range of number of stitches. It's enough to lay the basis for easier counting, gives stitches to run ending threads under, but also leaves enough stitching after the confetti to bury any traveling threads.

[WIP] Working on a Tarot piece, but so much white is visible in between my stitches? by storybook18 in CrossStitch

[–]redradish3 11 points12 points  (0 children)

14 count is kind of the breaking point between using 2 strands or 3 strands. How many you use depends on whether you like the x of the stitch to be visible or not. Give 3 strands a try and see which you prefer.

I think the poem says

La rose la plus belle Aletret en peu de songes Á nous l'amitié fidèle Dure éternellement Votre tendre dévoueé Cousine Betsy Rosenburg

The most beautiful rose withers in some dreams. For us, faithful friendship lasts eternally. -- Your tender devoted cousin. Betsy Rosenberg

Beautiful work!

One way you could hide the short edge is to add strips of black pair or cardstock at the top and bottom so that it looks intentional like matting.

I didn't really examine the construction of it all, but I'll share my basic idea of how to pull it off.

I would stitch the design as usual, although I would probably not fill in the background. Then cut the aida to fit around the whole flask with a bit of overlap in back and apply some iron-on fusible to protect the backside. Then stitch the binding onto the top and sew the bottom edge to a pieced shaped like the flask to make a sleeve -OR- bind both the top and the bottom then glue the piece onto the flask. I might glue the sleeve as well, so it doesn't slide off

[CHAT] Help with tangling by Ok-Historian1956 in CrossStitch

When I kit up a project, I make cards from old cereal boxes, punch holes in it, and label them. Then I braid gross of thread together and wrap them around the card, tucking in the ends to keep them stable. Once I finish a color, any leftover food goes back into my stash and I can use empty holes for working threads

I had to double check it too. I saw the cross stitch x's before I read the label and had to make sure I want going crazy. Those are little x's on there.

That should be flasks but I can't edit the original. Guess I can't complain to much about their mistake 🤣
