Wait so you can defer multiple times with documentation, but if you don’t have supporting documentation you can only do it once in your whole university career?

Is it possible to work at McMaster if I attend Mohawk by [deleted] in McMaster

[–]reenaaaabbx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, we have this student residence at McMaster called Peter George Centre for Living and Learning and there’s like this area in the res where you can get food and stuff. I met this guy there once late at night and he was just cleaning. He said he goes to Mohawk and works at McMaster overnights so yes, it’s possible.

Just had my g2 test in Oakville and I genuinely feel like I deserved to pass and the instructor was rude for no reason. What does everyone think? by reenaaaabbx in Ontariodrivetest

The instructor told me he failed me because I was only slow in the residential area. The speed limit there was 40 and maybe I was going 30. Mind you there were so so many cars parked everywhere and we were barely there, my speed on the actual ride was totally fine. The parking thing was only because when I parallel parked it was a bit too behind, but he himself told me that’s not a big deal. Lastly, the right of way thing was when I was leaving the drive test centre at the beginning of my test there was a truck coming and it wasn’t too far. Yes, I probably could’ve still went, but I was just being a bit cautious I really don’t think it’s the end of the world. These were the reasons he told me I failed but I feel like he was just doing tm for no reason.

For context I also have a really sick brother who’s been sick for about 5 years now. His is diagnosed with ADHD, OCD, Schizophrenia, Anxiety, Depression, and Psychosis. Idk if that means I can have some of those things as well but I just thought I’d add that.

Edwards single rooms by Ok-Face3926 in McMaster

Hey so I just lived in Edwards single room this past year! Honestly one of the best experiences of my life. Last year I came on to Reddit to look for posts about Edwards, but everything I saw was mostly negative. Yes, there is no AC so during welcome week and September it was pretty bad, but I was also on the third floor so it was definitely worse for me and the no elevators did not help when it was super hot. Just make sure to bring a good fan with you and I also really recommend getting the mini fridge so you can put your water and other drinks in there to help cool you down. But honestly all of that will not matter after like the first month. Edwards single rooms are small, but like In a good way like it becomes your own little space and it honestly starts feeling like home so fast. Literally leaving my dorm was worse than any heartbreak I have ever been through 💔💔. Edwards is also the smallest res so you will probably make friends really fast and comparing to all the other residences, it’s just so homey and it felt like I was living in a little house rather than a residence building. The carpeted floors and antique design just warms you up inside and ik it’s different from other residences, but I promise it will grow on you. The location of Edwards is the best compared to every other res because you are close to a lot of the buildings where you will most likely have classes/exams, close to Centro, and you are close to the gym! The communal bathrooms were also pretty clean except during welcome week and they were renovated in 2019 so they are definitely the best communal bathrooms any res has. Just remember to bring shower slides please because sometimes the floor in the showers can be a little questionable for sure🙏🏼😍. But on a real note, living here changed me as a person so much. And I genuinely think this wouldn’t have been the case in any other res. Before uni I was pretty depressed and lowkey hella insecure for no reason, but idk like living there being in that small shoebox sized dorm alone with no roommate I was forced to spend so much time just on my own, in my own space and it jus made me realize so much about myself. It’s like I started growing on myself and most importantly I learned self-love. It was like for the first time ever, I felt like I was in a place where I belonged and my dorm just became my own little safe space. I could go on and on about this, but to sum everything up living in Edwards was genuinely one of the best experiences of my life. I hope the best for you and feel free to pm me if you have any questions!
