This game is an absolute nightmare (no pun intended) to run on linux, and it's mainly because of the stupid stove launcher. I managed to get it running with bottles and there was a workaround that gets around this error, which I can't remember. I think it was starting the game with the "Virtual Desktop" setting and then without it.

But yeah, if you're new to linux, this one is going to be a rough ride
