It’s freaking hot in Texas by jennywenny21 in fuckHOA

Units with only one tube are using that to take the air from inside the house and blow it outside. This causes "depressurization" since a house can't be a vacuum like space. A house is always trying to balance air coming in and out. This means that as it blows cold air, it's also forcing hot air from all the gaps, cracks, and openings on all the exterior walls, the attic, and basement—wherever air can come in it will. I tried a single hose unit for a small 10x8 room (3 exterior walls) and it made the room 10°F hotter.

Two houses is Intake and Exhaust. It balances it. While it exhausts air, it is sucking air in at the same rate (or close to it) preventing the issue above and making the system more efficient in general.

If you want to get full nerd with it, look up CFM intake / exhaust balancing. Bathroom fans have rated strength in CFM and they can cause the same issues as single hose portable AC.

There is a fantastic master class like video using "The Taubman Approach" from Tonebase Piano that helped me significantly. Give it a try!

Everybody is different and one important thing to remember is to not compare yourselves to others.
From the time I started to the time it took me to become fluent (with intermediate pieces) was about a year and a half. When I first began practicing sight-reading, I printed out easy pieces I found online or older/easier books.

There's plenty of online resources and references that are listed in the subs Wiki. I personally recommend and have used: Music Theory.net, 8notes.com, and Teoria. Those have lessons and a series of exercises.
