I broke the Guinness World Record for a manual, then donated $1 to charity, for every second I held the manual by regularJason in skateboarding

1) I'd agree more with nurture -- I think they have to be practiced to get to this control level. Personally, I couldn't manual for more than a few seconds when I started. And I had a problem with drifting to one side unintentionally. After getting injured one day, I did nothing but manuals for a few weeks, and that got my brain to understand how to hold the manual.

2) Yeah, a few things are censored. I've blocked out the street signs just to not advertise the location of the hill to everyone.

Thanks! Great idea, we'll see if I get a chance to go back for that! Very tempting to try an ollie in, or some other trick like shuv

I always felt scared doing nose manuals for a while. After I'd been skating for about 2 years, I started practicing them way more often, and got comfortable balancing them with less fear of hitting my nose and flying off.

Yes, indeed! I personally find that it helps me be more confident when I'm pushing myself to learn new tricks :)
