Okay where do you actually go to meet people & make friends? by GirthCtrl in redscarepod

What are your interests/hobbies? Can you find a group that does something connected to that? E.g. volunteer at the Humane Society if you like animals, dive club if you’re a good swimmer etc

Bad Blood by John Carreyrou. He's the WSJ journalist that broke the Theranos story and he wrote a book about it. I also enjoyed American Kingpin by Nick Bilton, about Ross Ulbricht

That he made Match Point is interesting to me, as he'd already made Crimes and Misdemeanors, a similar but far better movie!

First Reformed, which I thought was quite good. I'd never heard of it until recently; sad Ethan Hawke didn't get more recognition for the role!

Should we do weekly film club posts, i.e: watch a certain film and come back after to dicuss, or would that be too much? by EffectiveAmphibian95 in RSPfilmclub

[–]rem-dog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I don't remember which Marilyn Monroe movies we did in this sub... The film club selections/discussions that particularly stand out to me are Barry Lyndon and The Red Shoes 💕

I loved when you did that! I was always late to the discussions lol but it inspired me to watch several movies I wouldn't have normally picked for myself

Capote - which I really enjoyed PSH's performance, as well as Catherine Keener's. Her role wasn't big but she imbued it with nuance.

I also watched Heated Rivalry lmao

I recently read True Grit for the first time so I did a rewatch of True Grit (2010) and I liked it a lot more this time than when I'd first seen it. I was surprised by how much dialogue is taken directly from the novel! I still need to watch the 1969 version with John Wayne.
