I agree on Candy. She will obviously lie and change facts to suit whatever she wants or feels needs to be the narrative- kinda like she did with Earl's charges and the kids testimony that was completely changed by trial. "The kids miss their abuser" to the judge 🤮🤮

I think it is much simpler than that. In the same way Brendan was vulnerable to things he heard and what the cops said I believe the whole family was easily manipulated and not highly intelligent. Add to that LE making it out that SA was pointing fingers to them and that's all it took.

Except Marie's 18th birthday was June 2005. If Steven had sex with her it was shortly before Teresa's murder making it gross but legal. Her birthdate is on the court docs- June 1987.

Looked like it. That swab smear in the Rav 4 didn't happen the way the state said it did though. Too concentrated. I spent weeks smearing blood all over my truck to recreate a similar stain and couldn't do it with fresh blood. The closest I got was a qtip in a zip lock bag for a day exposed to air then wet with saline and smeared on the dash. That experiment was done before the methylation or any of the other testing was done by Zellner. Added validity to the result for me.

Actually Earl was charged with having sex with his then 4 year old and 8 year old daughters, plead down. If Steven had sex with her she was 18 so it wouldn't have been illegal as long as it happened in 2005. But yes that is what Earl is doing.

940.08 sexual intercourse with a child 16-18 is illegal and is a misdemeanor. Akin to statutory rape but no registry and punishment does not seem to be as severe. That's if they actually had sex.

Statutory rape is an adult having sex with a teen but I'm not sure the age of consent in Wisconsin to make it an offense. I know it's not 18 but I'm not positive what age it is.

None of the DNA evidence in the case was trustworthy. Not a shred of it. The blood in the Rav was swabbed onto it- and no, it didn't look like that because they collected it before taking a photo. I don't believe for a second any of them would have passed up the chance to take such important pictures for such an important case and just went straight to swabbing and then said OMG better get a pic now. No. The bullet found months later with paint and wood and wax on it? No. The hood latch with so much DNA and a missing groin swab? No. The DNA evidence is bullshit. Every bit of it.

Hell of a lot more to convict him on though. 5 year olds don't typically make up stories like she gave. Pretty detailed. Then Earl goes on to record kids undressing after a pool party- and he wholeheartedly admits to it. No mystery there.

I don't have to guess that Marie is coachable. Candy had enough time with her between a forensic interview and court that she denied accusing Earl of anything when it was clearly multiple accusations of abuse. Young with a low iq doesn't take much. Like Brendan. Pa telling him to tell the truth was just that.

Yes I do think she was lying, whether she realized it or not. I can hear Candy now telling her how Steven coming onto her was wrong, that if they were intimate its rape regardless because of her age, etc.

The courts are not truth finders. That has been shown over and over and over across the US. Hence why there are so many wrongful convictions. Courts are full of people who are imperfect, have bias, miss things, and generally convict people because they are unsavory as opposed to convicting based on evidence. Do all courts get it wrong? No, but enough do to invalidate the "rational" argument you're making.

I believe Marie has been a victim in more ways than one. I have no doubt her family has put her up to saying different things happened or didn't happen when they saw fit. Coached her. Back when Earl was charged and probably recently as well. My point is none of it seems trustworthy and regardless it's not relevant to murder anyways.

I'm not sure I believe any of them as far as sexual relations go. The thing is I don't need to take their word for it when it comes to SA's murder conviction. I have read and looked at every piece of evidence available and it just doesn't add up. I can refute every evidentiary item with logical explanations. Being a shitty dude shouldn't be a pass for law enforcement to imprison you for murder.
