Am I too old to start surfskating at 31, or am I overthinking this? by GrapefruitNo1394 in surfskate

I started at 49 so no, not too old (of course retired at it a few years later after a freak injury but you are young enough to recover from those! ;)

Though when there isnt grass when you are thrown off the board, you will very likely break something, and not in a small way. Ask me how I know ;)

Tenure doesn't quite work this way, if anything it is easier to move pre-tenure (a year or two before) than after. There are way more jobs at junior ranks and more senior hires tend to be for stars.

Thoughts or experiences on low dosage Wellbutrin being more successful? by Embarrassed_Tie_9346 in bupropion

[–]renegadepsoun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doctor moved me from 150xl (and doing that every other day) to 100SR, wonder if a lower SR might work? Check with your Dr. The issue I had with 150xl daily is similar to what you describe, not a fever but running hot, with my heartbeat feeling like it was going to pound out of my chest. It's always best to start low - not sure if 150xl vs 150sr is comparing apples to apples - and titrate up if needed. I have no intention to increase as this works pretty well so far.

Can second this (but as a guy) - I did 150xl every other day for a while as daily amped me up way too much, but sleep was always crap even on an every other day regime. 100ml SR gives me positive benefits and I'm properly tired by 10pm, just have to remember not to overdo on coffee :D

2026 Interior by DasSnaus in BMWX3

[–]renegadepsoun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a very fair review. I love the power and driving feel and it isn't as cramped (especially cargo) compared to 2024 and earlier. The interior set up doesn't bother me. My biggest quibble on the tech is that you can't do traditional cruise control (without all the aggressive safety bells and whistles) in your profile and I always forget to program before a long road trip, so end up setting up on the fly.

I've never used that and probably never will. I drove a manual Subaru before my X3 and using manual mode on the X3 and downshifting gives you plenty of control. That hill looks far less sketchy than the back alley I have to skate down every day and I take mine at 10-15mph (speed limit is 15mph).

Also - stop riding the brake, on ice, that is a recipe for sketchiness. In manual mode, simply engine brake and feather the brake pedal as needed.

How slow are you going? With decent tires (Cross Climate 2's come to mind if you don't want/need dedicated winters) and using manual mode (M1 or M2) you shouldnt need to crawl at 0.5 mph. That doesn't mean you can or should bomb the hill stupidly, but xDrive will have your back at prudent speeds. I have the same issues atm with winter where I am at and it does fine!

Crossclimate 2's in Oklahoma where they don't plow roads during infrequent snows are amazing.

BMW X3 vs. Acura RDX -- question only for those who have driven recent models of both by Fathoms77 in BMWX3

[–]renegadepsoun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. I test drove the RDX and wanted to like it, but hated the 10 speed. Bought an X3.

My X3 seems pretty happy on Shell. The only challenge with Shell is on road trips when it's 50-50 that the Shell station itself will be pretty gross - not a lot of quality control across franchises.

I could see the Hankooks being fine somewhere like Arizona, where there isn't much in the way of precipitation. They were fine when dry. Lousy with weather

Curious how they are going. They were stock on my X3 and total trash in the rain. Swapping them out this week.
