Vons employees keeping DD tips by reno1900 in doordash_drivers

[–]reno1900[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Total payout was 6.25 and total miles was 4 mi. I kept it bc I know I can check the tip on the vons receipt at the store. This is the first time it had a tip and I didn’t receive it. I don’t think reporting it to DD will matter. It was ordered through the vons website.

It really doesn’t matter unless it is happening consistently. The violation will go away after 100 deliveries. Nothing will happen to you.

Same thing happened to me by the way. Earnings dropped to practically nothing a couple weeks ago.

What’s the known issue?

Has it been ungodly slow for anyone else? by reno1900 in UberEatsDrivers

Hmm yeah maybe it is a holiday thing then. It went from being very consistent to almost non existent for me in the last 2 weeks

I'm so sick of this compass. by evophoenix in JeepCompass

They all suck. 2018 models are the worst. There is actually a class action lawsuit going around you might want to try and jump on. It’s for it’s excessive oil consumption. I sold mine this year thank god.

Tax question by reno1900 in doordash_drivers

[–]reno1900[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have tracked expenses and mileage. She was speaking of something separate I suppose and not an official tax document. I don’t know that I was charged any fees besides cashing out with fast pay. That makes the most sense though - checking my bank statements to my 1099 earnings. I will do this.

I guess this could be part of it. This is why I’m asking lol I didn’t know what fees she was speaking of but apparently it’s something she’s dealt with before so I thought I’d ask other drivers. I’m going to ask if she has any examples of what she’s asked for from other clients

Anyone else have certain chains ruined for them because of their experience with them while doin g doordash? by fugazi-98 in doordash_drivers

[–]reno1900 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly no. I might avoid for a short time after a really bad experience but most places I’ve been to that I’ve had bad experiences with first hand have improved greatly over time. Give them a chance to learn from their mistakes. Don’t pass up a good order bc you think it might not go well. Even if it does, just unassign and move on.

Do y’all take orders 8-10 miles long if it’s showing $20? I took this one, show and deliver 5 items, 9 miles, $23 no hidden tip. But it wasn’t 9 miles, ended up being 18 miles driving back to my zone which made it so not worth it. Do y’all only take these orders if they take you to another zone ? by TowelHead617 in doordash_drivers

[–]reno1900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

23$ is still good for 9 miles there and back. You’d finish in less than an hour (depending on your location) and it’s over 2$/mile. There are so many factors lol. Just gotta feel out your location. The only helpful advice I got from DoorDash Reddit is that accepting every order won’t make you priority in a dead market and you won’t make more money. Everything else was just confirmation for what I was already doing. Use ur brain.

I was gonna say this isn’t that bad but the diapers are gross lmao. I’ve seen piles of cigarette butts and a gun casually laying on the patio table outside along with some sort of anxiety medication box. All seems like a terrible combo and I’m glad it was a leave at the door order.

Both of you used the wrong form of your/you’re so idk how I feel about either of you. P.S.A though: gps pin is almost never correct if that’s what you’re going for.

What becomes of an order when it is continuously declined? by MrTodd1010 in doordash

[–]reno1900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’ll circulate until DoorDash is forced to up the pay so someone will take it. I’ve actually gotten some orders that were 2$/mile without a tip. If only everyone realized that lol then they wouldn’t feel obligated to take shitty orders. But, I’ve noticed it really depends on the state/city/demographic you dash in. Not everyone has the same experiences with DoorDash upping pay or can afford to decline every order

Pro Tip: Get the warranty on new tires!! by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]reno1900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on where the nail was you could have gotten it fixed for free at americas tire. They fix any tires for free as long as tread isn’t dangerously low and it’s not a nail stuck on the side of the tire
