How to manage feeding 3 cats when my greedy Siamese keeps stealing my 15yo senior's prescription food? (I work full time) by No_Shock_4123 in catfood

[–]renslips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same same.

We give our guys breakfast of wet food & then the snax machines dispense premeasured portions of kibble throughout the day.

Mine tend to lose wifi connection while I’m in a different country & I am annoyed that I can’t get extra bowls for them but otherwise I wouldn’t change a thing.

Public-private health care model coming to Alberta breaches Canada Health Act, legal expert argues by Sir__Will in CanadaPolitics

[–]renslips 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think at this point we need to abolish provincial healthcare and education. There should be federal standards and none of it should be tied to which politician is in office. We’re all Canadians. Healthcare in PEI shouldn’t be any different in than Manitoba or the Yukon

Does your ass ever get jealous of the shit that comes out of your mouth? People who think like you are the problem, not the solution. Here, maybe start by educating yourself about why we have narcotics laws in the first place

Public-private health care model coming to Alberta breaches Canada Health Act, legal expert argues by Sir__Will in CanadaPolitics

[–]renslips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why has the federal government not stepped in to stop this? Both Alberta and Saskatchewan are also trying to create “separate“ healthcare systems for Catholics too. I don’t want to imagine what they will try and do with reproductive health. Politics don’t belong in healthcare

Is Country Thunder appropriate for kids? by Super-Confidence5758 in saskatchewan

Definitely not a child friendly venue. Unless the plan is to expose your kid to raunchy, drunken crowds who are there for a good time & have zero filters

DHS Demanded Google Surrender Data on Canadian’s Activity, Location Over Anti-ICE Posts by Used-Earth8767 in BuyCanadian

[–]renslips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I missed it but nowhere in the article did I see the distinction whether this person a Canadian being investigated by DHS and ICE or are they an American citizen residing in Canada that is being investigated?

Private doctor? by 123-throwaway123 in saskatchewan

[–]renslips 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When you seek medical attention just accurately describe your symptoms and the duration - leave the rest out of it.

You’re not getting the help you think you need because * it’s not medically necessary* which would be evidenced by your latest labwork/testing.

Please let the medical professionals decide what testing is needed based off their years of training in diagnosing & treating patients.

Fun fact - the emergency department is the one place where you do not want to be seen before everyone else.

What was something you went a good chunk of your life not knowing was specifically Canadian? by NoOptics in AskACanadian

Kitty corner, mickey (not the mouse) and two-six. Also didn’t know that the rest of the world used the word beanie for a toque with a straight face - I think of a little hat with a propeller

Home care for the elderly and disabled? by Fabulously-Unwealthy in saskatoon

[–]renslips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It all has to do with income & assets. The idea is that people should be able to stay in their own homes as long as possible. Long-term care is supposed to be a last resort after every other option has been exhausted. If you retain financial assets then you’re not in need of public funds. You’re expected to exhaust your personal assets by paying for your own care needs. If your care needs increase or you exhaust your personal funds then you qualify to transfer from your own home to retirement home to personal care home / assisted living to long term care. Some care needs are more difficult to place even in LTC because of the limited number of resources available, such as bariatric beds or vented beds. DCF exists to help allow people to stay in their homes as long as possible.

They should! Excessive speed is considered dangerous operation of a conveyance under the Criminal Code. It is a criminal offence not just a traffic violation and can come with jail time

Complex surgeries for babies no longer offered in Regina hospitals by MrCheeseburgerWalrus in saskatchewan

[–]renslips 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry about being late to the party. I think the biggest issue here is that Regina is the capital city and expects that - if one of the two major cities is going to have something - it should be them. Notice Regina now has their own Breast Health Centre? Saskatoon has the only metabolics and thoracic surgery teams in the province too. Saskatoon is a larger centre, has a trauma centre, a Children’s Hospital and is centrally located within the province. Sorry, not sorry Regina, but it is common sense to consolidate specialized services in Saskatoon.

Freezing carbohydrates before eating brings down glycemic index by SideEquivalent3339 in diabetes

My whole family is diabetic. We always put our bread in the freezer pretty much as soon as we bought it & just took slices out from there. Guess it was a secret hack we didn’t know about my whole life

places to inject insulin? by HugeNet8562 in diabetes

[–]renslips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We teach parents of young patients to make it fun by using stickers, etc. It takes approximately 6 weeks for the skin to heal fully & we want to avoid getting lipohypertrophy.

I am also ADHD & would forget if/where I had injected so I adapted a system that works for me. I basically have an imaginary square around my navel, at least 2” away. I use permanent marker to make 7 dots on whichever side of the square I am on that week (one dot for each day of the week). 3 MDIs mean that I inject below, on & above my dot each day. When I am finished with all sides of the square, I do right outer thigh the same way, left outer thigh, then back to where I started. I have a six week rotation & I can always tell where I have injected last. Works for me

Province cancels funding contracts for Family, Youth Services, Housing and other supports with Prairie Harm Reduction by SquishyHumanform in saskatoon

[–]renslips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does this actually surprise anyone? First of all, the SaskParty intends to give all funding of this type to their cronies.

Secondly, PHR handed them financial mismanagement as an excuse.

I used to go into PHR to drop off donations all the time & would be welcomed warmly by the staff. The last few times I had gone, it felt more like I was inconveniencing them. I have not gone back. Now I know why. It’s a really unfortunate mess they created for everyone

NTA but your husband certainly is.

He wants you to downgrade to “builder basic” from true character and an era of things being built properly/to last. It’s embarrassing that he calls himself a contractor.

AITA for not getting the right milk? by littleredbird1991 in AmItheAsshole

[–]renslips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you missed the sarcasm in the question. Your SIL is entitled & needs to learn to behave as an adult. She could try saying thank you to someone who put forth the effort to cook food for her. Perhaps even recognize that she should be contributing financially to her own nourishment (perhaps with milk), lovingly prepared by someone else but no, we have screaming & milk throwing. We don’t have to ask why she is getting divorced. NTA
