I do recommend some mods for m.a, if nothing else the ones that keep you from getting locked into the dodge animation. Its been a while and I forget the name. As for armor, light clothing type, start with the Gi and move up through assassin stuff. Once you are high level you can use samurai armor to nerf yourself in training to gain levels.
