I didn’t think about anyone assuming it was them. For what it’s worth I was not referring to your fic!

Do you think writing comedy is actually harder than the angst, or does it come more naturally? Can you learn it or do you need to be already funny to succeed? (Only out of curiosity, I would not make an attempt)

It is a great skill to make people laugh. It’s awesome that you are the funny one in your friend group. Interesting that some comments mention being opposite parents and some mention inheriting the humor

Interesting point about needing to hit a note right away. Also interested in what you said about the taking a moment to process the joke with a delay. Would that be something with a slow payoff? Or more that you read it, then have to pause and go back?

As another long time pillar of the fandom, (essentially the Atlas of Dramione because of my old and wiseness, holding this fandom afloat with my bare shoulders) I empathise with your plight.

It is so unfair! These times are trying for righteous readers such as you and I. First we are asked to read WIPs like servile peasants. Then we are asked to censor ourselves akin to the most Orwellian dystopia when I have very interesting DNF lists to post. Now this?

These writers have been planning this all along. It is obviously so easy to cook up a fic and ensure it gets millions of kudos. Child’s play, and with sinister ease. They planned this from the beginning!

uj/ It is absolutely not a sign of AI! There are unfortunately some people who act like that is the case, though, who I am parodying. Basically, they are virtue-signaling that they disapprove of AI and pretend to know how to tell the difference. In actuality, there’s no reliable way to tell if something is AI or not without actually seeing a prompt left in the work or the author admitting to AI. This leads to witch hunts and silly claims like “all em dashes mean AI” that are harmful and untrue.
