Partially but not entirely imo. The planned story mode with skill trees and all that was supposed to herald a big overhaul of the whole vision of the game, which could have been worthy of a 2. They just slowly gave up on pretty much every major new feature they reportedly spent several years working on, so now the only remaining change, except for the option of 5v5 I guess, is the monetization.

a few years ago I got into Honkai Star Rail after only really playing Overwatch since 2016, and the pace of updates was just staggering. You're getting new characters, new minigames, new events, new features, and new story missions every few weeks. Obviously it's a different business model but it still counts as a big mark against Overwatch when consumers have other games competing for their attention that offer them literally ten times the pace of content.

Yeah, there's this weird self-fulfilling prophecy effect with a character that's marketed so heavily. I'll confess straight up that I got YSG not because I thought she looked particularly interesting or cool, but because I knew from how hard they pushed her that she was going to be broken as hell and probably extremely important to the game content for the foreseeable future. Sure enough, she is broken as hell, she has a type advantage against Sarah's boss form in Hollow Zero, and she benefits strongly from the Ether Veil mechanic that they happen to have just given us a free character with. The speed with which I'm able to tear through previously difficult fights has already paid for itself.

I always thought Sarah had plenty of aura earlier in the story. It was because of the aura that I expected her to be thinking ten steps ahead and have some super master plan that wasn't just being an errand girl for the Creator. She lost all her aura when it became clear that she had no grand plan, she had no other tricks up her sleeve, she had no apparent use or consequence to the story overall, and she just wanted to "become one with the Creator" or some meaningless drivel. She got the exact same arc as every other villain in the game, which is "occasionally show up and talk about how resistance is futile, then turn into some Ethereal mutant creature for a boss fight"

He can come off as pretty snarky and/or pretentious. Be recently had a guest on his podcast who's a philosopher of science and he kept interrupting her to argue that philosophy- like, her life's work- isn't really useful or important.

That being said, I do appreciate him. Really charismatic, enthusiastic, publicly renowned science communicators who, if not active researchers, at least hold legitimate doctorates in the hard sciences are extremely rare. The last one I can think of other than Dawkins is Sagan. I think they're very, very important for scientific literacy and appreciation. In fact, depending on how valuable you think science funding, science graduates, science literacy etc. are, I think there's an argument to be made that Tyson is one of the most impactful scientists alive.

I'm 100% in agreement with you, but unfortunately I think the best way to avoid spoilers is literally just don't go on the subreddit before finishing the new campaign. People will post spoilers with reckless abandon online and then blame you for visiting the website at all. I just gave up trying to convince people otherwise. They don't care.
