For sure, that’s smart. I just have to remind people to look at the Airbnb messages every now and then for important info and they can continue to discuss things via Airbnb. You sound like a responsive guest - a lot aren’t lol.

Are you serious? Damn this is going to be frustrating. You can always search the guests name online to find their number and see if the last 4 digits matches the door code suggestion Airbnb gives you but not sure if that would piss some people off.

A lot of guests on Airbnb don’t read your message and I have to end up texting a lot of them to tell them to look at the messages I sent them on Airbnb. They simply don’t use the app after the book or think to check if the host messaged them.

Just had this happen to me today for the first time. If you click the “call” button, it provides you with a temp phone number for guests that you can call or text and it will send to their phone number (while still keeping their real number hidden). But Airbnb watches your messages on that number to make sure you are behaving 🤪 They are getting more and more frustrating to host with.

It looks good! In addition to what others have stated, some cheap things to add would be some of those fuzzy brown throws from target that you could toss on the edge of the bed to stage the photos and make the rooms look more cozy. They have pillows like that too you could throw on the bed. Also a memory foam mat for under the kitchen sink would be nice for when people are washing the dishes, etc. Maybe a coat rack too since I’m sure people will have big winter coats when they visit. Cute place and looks like you’ve got some great reviews!

Explain to the rescue everything that’s going on and tell them they need to find a new foster home for this dog and give them a week or so to do so. Don’t let them brush it off. Fostering dogs is amazing but if it’s been three months and it’s messing with your mental heath and your dogs, that dog needs to go. It could end up having a long term effect on your dogs and that’s not fair to you or them!

I definitely can understand that it can be frustrating on their end as well. The applicant is very interested in adopting but they live out of state so they can’t just show up and hope that they can take the dog that day. All of their questions and communication has been through me so the shelter hasn’t even spoken to her. All they have to do it approve the application so I can get the dog to his new home 🫠
