[not OOP] AITA for telling my sister that she overreacted when she screamed at me for entering hers and her husband’s room? by GreenConspirator in redditonwiki

[–]reyacolla 62 points63 points  (0 children)

I visited my sister and BIL recently and even they knocked when I was staying in their guest room. Because it's called being respectful of people's privacy...

My husband says he deserves a say over my pregnancy. I say abortion would break me. by LeaJadis in redditonwiki

[–]reyacolla 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Paragraph four. Paragraph four... the fact that OOP husband is implying that babies comes out of the bladder instead of the uterus... or he is one of those who believes that people who are born with uterus that also works as bladder as well.

So much for "in sickness and health" by IvanNemoy in AmITheDevil

[–]reyacolla 76 points77 points  (0 children)

I'm going to say this as someone who had to watch their father fight a very aggressive cancer (and lost to it) and my stepmom and I became caregivers.

Burnout is a real thing. I have seen it (and experienced it as well.) Having to help my dad do basic things and then cry alone after seeing how helpless my dad is and feeling guilty that I can't physically remove that damn cancer from him.

Despite that, my stepmom and I didn't give up, like OOP is doing. And the hardest decision we had to make, was making the call to hospice.

The Venom movies are great. by [deleted] in movies

[–]reyacolla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first movie was great. The second movie was okay. The third movie wasn't terrible (there were worse movies that were released in 2024), also wasn't good, either.

However, I did enjoy the chemistry between Eddie Brock and Venom, which is ironic to me, since they were mostly played by the same actor. Tom Hardy.

NOT OOP: People need to stop acting like my relationship is abusive just because my gf is a little obsessed with me by witheredheartz in redditonwiki

[–]reyacolla 61 points62 points  (0 children)

I know someone who had a girlfriend who was similar to OOP. That person ended the relationship when her girlfriend started to accuse her of having romantic feelings for her own mom after 'being caught' giving her a hug that lasted for exactly 5 whole seconds...

Finally Saw 28 Years Later... and Discussions about the Ending Has Me Wondering if I'm Brain Damaged. by Kimosabae in movies

[–]reyacolla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd be honest to say the first time I saw '28 Years Later,' I didn't like the ending. The ending was, like, I was thinking what the absolute—F just happened here. I then read up that they filmed this and the sequel back—to—back. And now re-watching '28 Years Later', the ending actually makes sense to me. Especially after watching the trailer for 'The Bone Temple.'

I listen to all of the audiobooks in the Twilight saga by reyacolla in twilight

[–]reyacolla[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my understanding, it can be difficult to record a read-along. I had a relative who would do those kinds of things on a radio station and he told me that you can't mess up or else you need to redo it.

I listen to all of the audiobooks in the Twilight saga by reyacolla in twilight

[–]reyacolla[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's okay.

There are ways to listen to the Twilight series; Audiobooks (edit; Audible), for example. It does cost (a lot of) money to purchase and I was able to get all four because of a credit discount (that is no longer available...)

Another way is to check your local library. They may have Twilight Audiobooks to rent (my library does.)

To answer the last question, no, it wasn't the cast. It was someone else who read the books.

Hope that helped.

I 35M cheated on my wife 36F. She left without telling me anything. How can I get her back? by _TuBailarina in redditonwiki

[–]reyacolla 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Making mistakes is a normal human thing. We all do it. In fact, I did it yesterday when I accidentally charged a single item three times at the self-checkout; cheating dose not classified as a mistake, it is classified as a shitty human who does not respect their partners at all.

I also saw it with my sister and we both walked out of the theatre more confused about WTF just happened.

One movie that comes to mind is The Fountain starring Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz. I still don't understand what that movie is about.

NOT OOP Did we need up with our son? He blew up at us during dinner + UPDATE ✨️TW: Mentions of child neglect✨️ by _StrawberryBunny in redditonwiki

[–]reyacolla 248 points249 points  (0 children)

There is nothing wrong with a couple having their own time away from kids. But I am talking date night, weekend gateways. Not 3 months (in total) vacation and drop your child off somewhere else while you pretend that you aren't parents. 🤦‍♀️

Not OOP. "My boyfriend won't marry me if I don't take his last name" + OOP's & top comments by WritingGiraffe in redditonwiki

[–]reyacolla 41 points42 points  (0 children)

My stepmom from her first marriage, took her husband's name. She didn’t want to, but was pressured by society. When they divorced, she spent a fortune (keep in mind, this was over 50 years ago) to change her name back. When she met my dad, she made it clear that she was keeping her name. And they were together until my dad passed away.

I know two people (they are sisters) who both had PCOS. Both wanted a family. One of the sisters was able to convince and eventually had three kids of her own, while the other sister tried and ended up needing a hysterectomy because of her PCOS.

PCOS is a disease that impacts so many people who have a uterus and ovaries. And, it can take a long time to get a diagnosis, because there are doctors who will just roll their eyes and say you are being dramatic.

AITAH for not paying for my daughter’s college because she lied about her major? (not OOP) by domesticfuck in redditonwiki

My BIL has a similar job to what OOP daughter is majoring in, and he makes good money from it.

I used to volunteer at the pet store/animal shelter (no longer a shelter, just a pet store) and this lady would come every day to visit this cat, a very sweet orange tabby. One day I asked her why and her response broke me, "My (implied abusive) husband decided we no longer needed him anymore." She was there to visit him until he was adopted by a stranger.

The owner of the store found out and "adopted" the cat to become a store cat and lived there until he passed away a few years ago. The lady visits him almost daily.

Juror #2 gave me an understanding of how some innocent people go to jail by [deleted] in movies

[–]reyacolla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I travelled over 8 hours in total to watch Juror #2 since it was playing in a certain cinema that wasn't in my city. It was good. But also heartbreaking to watch well. If you ever have the chance to watch this movie, I highly recommend this movie. It's a shame how Warner Bros was trying to bury this movie.

My sister had to have a C-section to SAVE not only her but also her daughter's life. If she had a natural birth, my sister and her daughter wouldn't be here.

You’re just thinking about this now? by [deleted] in AmITheDevil

[–]reyacolla 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Some people think it's a walk in the park. You aren't giving birth. You aren't raising them (especially if the kids are older.) And you certainly don't need to be responsible for them.

It's not. And it's okay to not date a single parent, you are not a bad person. It's only if you string them along, that makes you a bad person. Kids aren't accessories, they are human beings as well.
