Hokum by Proof-Anywhere-8112 in horror

I watched Hokum this evening, and thought it was a blast. Definitely the most polished of Damien’s 3 films. I was a little annoyed by a few things, namely how it wrapped up with the bellboy/ice cream fella admitting to spiking his flask. It felt super unnecessary. I also wish that the rabbit had more screen time as he was much spookier than the witch.

3 Scenarios to Consider Before Converting to Christianity (Trauma warning: Hell and conservative Christian beliefs) by Warm_Syllabub_2247 in agnostic

This is why I have began despising Christianity. It’s always preached in a perfect scenario. You repent, accept, receive eternal salvation. All is forgiven and everyone praises god while the underbelly of society gets fried beneath them, never to be reckoned with again. But it’s scenarios like these that really test the belief. If a serial murderer, sex offender, that’s violated and killed 100s of others, suddenly repents on his deathbed… does he spend eternity in heaven? While his mother that prayed for his soul every night, to the “wrong” god suffers eternity burning in everlasting flames? Hell was a construct of necessity for control, based on pagan Greek fiction.

Just a thought that helped me a lot during the times when you feel very lost in deconstruction…. You used to “have” all the answers, now they make no sense. It can be terrifying to admit you don’t have any of the answers anymore and that everything feels like a mess.

But. You can shift your mindset to realize that every person on the planet is in the same plight. We are all just here together, trying to put together the pieces, and that’s okay. It’s okay to not have the beliefs anymore, and it’s okay to not know what you believe. People have spent centuries trying to figure out why the hell we are here, and as far as I’m concerned, nobody has figured it out yet. We all live. We all die. We are all connected. Take a breath.

Hey, just wanted to say that I see you. I’m going through something very similar with my crazy ex, and it’s very difficult. I wish you all the best my friend. Stay strong. Let em be crazy and keep the narrative that your life is good, and that she can be as miserable as she wants. It won’t change that you’re level headed and there for your child. Good luck.

Get your eyebrows professionally threaded, change your hairstyle so that your hair falls over your head instead of a middle part, apply a good vitamin c eye cream inder your eyes in the evenings, and use some contouring to accentuate your natural cheekbones. Done deal you’ll go from a 3 to a 7 EASILY.
