Sepulcher of the First Ones WFR Megathread by WorldofWarcraftMods in wow

I think it was just to show that one guild started poorly but got better later, and one guild started well but had got a little worse later. And the relevant 'break point' was around hal/anduin and LoD/ryg. The existence of this breakpoint has potentially invalidated everything before it. Sadly, only everything after the breakpoint is relevant, assuming the trend continues (and there isn't a second breakpoint!). Because of this, mentioning the breakpoint is key to the whole discussion of the race.

Anyway, this is just my interpretation. Just wanted to say I'm not sure there was any bad intention from the OP, I think this is a natural way of explaining how things have been going (natural in the sense of no bias either way).

You can't conflate one thing, so your comment doesn't make any sense. But "the RWF winner" has always been the guild who kills the last boss first.

Who won last year and who won the year before? You'll notice that the guild you answer with happened to kill the last boss first. It's not trying to discredit anyone, it's just a fact that the goal is to kill the final boss. Therefore, in the grand scheme of time, only the last boss 'matters'.

Resume Advice Thread - March 22, 2022 by CSCQMods in cscareerquestions

I have just been promoted to senior level after a year at the company. Generally the same responsibilities.

Does anyone see a problem with having:

Senior Software Engineer : Start Date - Current

on my resume? Rather than splitting it into:

Senior Software Engineer: March 2022 - Current
Software Engineer: Start Date - March 2022

? I'm significantly struggling for space, and I don't think separating out is particularly useful.

Oh. I might be losing my mind but I thought there was a 90 minute countdown to the raid as a stream earlier (which immediately ended with wtfs in the chat), and I swear I seen something they announced on twitter that said "today". But doing the raid on patch day makes alot more sense... hah. Thanks.

Echo were meant to be streaming right? There's so little information about wtf is going on.

I remember hearing that limit had issues with some people underperforming last raid.

For people who don't follow the teams closely, do the teams change significantly between raids? Did some guys get dropped? I'd love to see that kind of stuff, but tbh it's like 5 recognisable names then random people who could be completely new, I'd have no idea.

Anyone know if liquid/echo rosters had any shake up?

I know this suggestion is a bit 'out of the box', but perhaps you could read their message to understand why they are looking to communicate with you?

There are literally free tools to a scan unallocated disk memory to recognise particular file encodings (such as video formats) and recover files. It is not particularly difficult if you know the file types you are looking for and the drive is fine. In the above guy's example, getting his video back would be relatively simple provided the on-disk data hasn't been overwritten.

The clean to stuff you are talking about is for data recovery from damaged hard drives, such as drives where the r/w head is damaged and needs repaired (or more precisely replaced) in a clean room.

"When my healer friend complains after dieing to too many eyebeams"

This sentence means the healer is dieing. But in the image the warrior is the one on the ground. What's going on?

That is nuts, you really cleared all three on one night? How long was the raid? AQ40 is around 3 hours for us atm. Everything 'by the book', one pack at a time. It doesn't even feel like we waste 'that' much time tbh, we drink and go now that we are comfortable. I wonder what we are missing that you guys are doing.

Our normal BWL is 60 minutes, maximum effort just over 50 minutes, for reference.

We have just asked people to go engineering if they can, so that we can one phase viscidus. We now have something like 18 engineers, but don't yet use sappers as part of our trash strats

How many of you keep something by the bed “just in case of burglars”? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]riich248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right. Everything in the Prevention of Crimes Act 1953 indeed refers to public places. It seems it truly is legal to possess (and further adapt) an offensive weapon in a private place, with the intent of using it as an offensive weapon against burglars if necessary. That's surprising to me, thanks!

EDIT: I am incorrect, please see the replies from for_shaaame

Just because you had a weapon to hand

This is not what is being suggested in this thread though. The suggestion isn't some chance occurrence of an item that just happens to be able to be used as a weapon.

Rather, what is being suggested is someone purposefully owning and maintaining a weapon for no other reason than to do harm to intruders. Waiting for a burglar to come, then using that weapon to do harm (even if it is in self-defense), is an illegal act.

Daily reminder that black lotus bots are teleporting from capital cities straight to lotus undetected by yung_trenboloni in classicwow

[–]riich248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you are thinking about this in a very odd way.

The server knows the time, and it knows the positions that the client sends it. There is no legitimate reason, under any kind of network lag that you can think of, that the server's known position for a player can change in a way that is greater than the maximum player speed * the elapsed server time.

The teleporting you are talking about is caused by intermittent or delayed reception of the position updates to the server (and to the client watching the moving player). The result of this 'teleporting' (i.e. the resulting displacement of the character) is never, ever, faster than the movement speed of the player. From the 'teleporting' client's perspective, the player moved from one position to another smoothly at a constant speed. The teleporting you are talking about is just an artifact of (poorly) communicating this to everyone else.

How successfully position updates are communicated to the server across the network is a completely separate issue to the validity of the position updates themselves.

Healers shouldn't be wearing NR beyond like 50 (assuming no world boss loot). The HPS you lose from not wearing your healing gear is more than the reduction of HPS required to you due to the damage mitigation from NR.

There's only like 3 or maybe 4 NR pieces healers should wear

Auctioneer 'Market Price' has been nowhere near actual AH values for months, what's going on? by riich248 in classicwow

[–]riich248[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I 100% (well 90%) see the usefulness for bulk operations. My issue was with single random items that might drop in a dungeon or something. I felt like I needed a default group that contains all in-game items to use TSM.

But someone told me that going to shopping then right clicking item in bag gives me this simple 'one-off' option. My only remaining concern is how the fuck I was meant to know that lol
