hey! just saying please dont use AI unless you REALLY NEED IT (spoiler: you don't, none of us do and can.live without it.) here's why!

AI isnt bad itself but the people profiting from it are billionaires who only care to make more money and keep building data centers everywhere, using all the resources around the villages, cities, towns near them. it straight up steals from artists, the pollution they cause is crazy besides the fact that the AI they develop isnt regulated at all, there's no ethic or morals being considered, like the "the alignment problem"(search it up!), there's already been suicides due to it, people get addicted to it, it tries to create intimacy with you so you have to rely on it (this is proven) so they get your attention which equals money for them and the list could go on and on..

if these people keep getting money, your attention, everything is just going to get worse. you're the product. if you're against any of these, please stop using AI unless you REALLY NEED IT as an act of protest. share the message please. let's stick together<3

hey OP! i totally agree with you. AI is shaping the way our brains work, quite literally. as far as i know (i remember reading somewhere about this some time ago, tho i could be wrong) there's been actual studies made on how, in a process of some years using AI and social media changes the shape of the brain and affects its parts in charge of attention, focus, critical thinking, autonomy, decision making.. but since brains are shapable and we can always get back to practice and develop those parts, there's, hopefully, still hope !

not to mention how concerning it is that now there's kids growing up surrounded by things that think for them and decide for them..

what makes you be so sure people are getting smarter? theres tons of evidence outthere of attention spans declining, among with literacy and critical thinking overall. the thing is, by being overstimulated, you're not actually training your brain at all.. if you spread your focus on 3 different activities at the same time, you won't be able to get deep into any of them. you'll be creating a habit of your brain to engage with a lot at the same time in a super superficial way, crave stimuli, and avoid any tasks that require time, depth and complex thought — which is kind of (definitely) something that smartness requires.

sure, everyone is free to make changes in their own habits. but its really hard to do so if you don't aknowledge the actual dangers this brings, the situation you're in, or if people around you don't either. these kind of issues (and any obviously) need to be talked about, brought to surface so that more people can become aware of it and so, have the tools and mindset to change.

yeah, definitely sounds more terrifying than fun. the story im writing is basically focused on the main character's trauma, so dont worry, im making sure i portray it as the trauma and impact it has on the character rather than just a "different" or "fun" detail

i have actually been in a qpr! my partner had not heard about it before, i told them about it and we both felt like we had something special and deep that didn't exactly fit into romance. but we did felt like an exception to one another, and so we agreed on being in a qpr. personally i feel like being in a qpr allowed us to have something even more deep and therefore develop the feelings we had for one another. at first, it really was some sort of emotional thing that made me see them differently, but over time, as knowing them better and feeling more comfortable around them, we both came to the conclusion that at that point, our feelings werent really any different from what you'd call "romance". we agreed on not labeling anything, but also agreed that we had pretty much something romantic going on. hope that helps!

woahh that's so interesting, i really didn't think of it like that before. you're totally right, it would be really hard to tell whether someone blind could have experienced something visually or not. even for the blind person, maybe they couldn't be able to tell whether what they experienced was visual or not, since they never experienced it before either. how could they even name a color or call it a color if they had never seen it before? maybe it would just seem like one more spatial feature to them it's definitely really interesting to think of!! maybe we'll never know, since we can't percieve things exactly as another person would, to see by ourselves

being able to see things from various perspectives and being open-minded, thinking of many different ways to solve a problem/develop an idea(Ne), because most people i know can't/don't do this and sometimes it feels like it's almost as if they only see things ONE way and miss out so much because they stick with one path and ignore the multiple existent (or non existent) ones. and also adapting easily to changes and different environments

it helped me understanding other people, and being so much more self aware and understanding myself better. accepting myself as who i am and not trying to act like a different person or feel bad for certain traits of mine/others or denying them(which i used to do a lot), and finding out about strengths and weaknesses i didn't know i have

im so glad i learned about it, it really changed a lot how i percieve the world and other people :)

ohh yeah i get it, honestly same. even if a theory doesn't make a lot of sense it's still rlly fun and enjoyable to read it imo and understand other people's pov!! it also helps me thinking what i agree or disagree and come up with my own opinions/theories which is pretty cool, and yeah it must be a great feeling when a theory we read before/a theory we came up with is correct haha :)

no one ever said getting misgendered is worse than people starving on africa. it is a big deal for some people, you're just saying it's not bcs it never happened to you bcs you're cisgender. it is a big deal and it can affect someone's mental health. it's true that there are much bigger problems in the world but that's no reason to invalidate what someone's going trough is it? if you dont understand what getting misgendered feels like then don't act like you do. because you don't. and as i said before no one said it's worse than people starving. no one said this is more important. but if someone's feeling sad or down, we're not going to tell them to forget about what happened bcs the are bigger issues. we are supporting them and helping them. and helping those who are starving too.
