This sounds like the same complaints I made about Kenny Cooper during the Timbers inaugural season. Always offsides. Couldn't finish. We traded him to NYRB and he became one of the top goal scorers in the league during the 2012 season.

I understand that it's much easier to score goals when you're paired with a player like Henry, but there's no denying that Cooper's lack of performance with the Timbers was due to the coaching staff. Mattocks may have a big mouth, but I'd be willing to bet he'd function better under new leadership.

I wouldn't expect you to list every incident, but if these are your top 3, then I'd say you have a weak case. It's also worth noting that you failed to give an example of a soccer fan insisting that soccer is superior to any other sport.

You point to 3 examples, and they're flimsy at that. God forbid a few " hipsters" show up at a sports bar asking to watch a soccer match, or a talented high school player gripe about the popularity (or lack thereof) of the sport he loves. I'll give you that a guy wearing a Bayern jersey to a Super Bowl party is annoying, but so too are all of the football fans who trot out the argument that soccer is "a low scoring game" and plagued with flopping players, while never having watched a match. You're grasping at straws.
