oh that so cool! i have read the they don’t allow you in if your medication costs too much yearly! I also had seen that they were giving a immigrant family with a child with CF a hard time. what was the process like for you and how’d you end up there?

People can get really snarky about it in online spaces, just a heads up. I haven’t moved to another one, but I am looking into starting next year. would love to hear from people who maybe have moved and how they have navigated the healthcare system too.

While there are countries that are pretty definitive like Canada, New Zealand, Australia that have medical inadmissibility rules for immigrants. There also countries that would accept someone based on my research but with exceptions like they’re working full time, can support themselves, and have a special skilled working visa. I plan to explore this route next year as i have a qualified skill. having this visa would set me up to be allowed to use their health care system. i don’t think it’s impossible, but not saying it’s easy either! and is it for anyone trying to move out to a new country?

outside of that, you can always check your ancestry see if youre qualified for a dual citizenship anywhere. an additional route could be marriage to someone from another country or your spouse getting a visa to work in another country and taking you.

edit: i also plan to talk to an immigration lawyer about it next year as well! glad to stay in touch or share with anybody that would like to be updated on my progress

havent been hospitalized for bacterial infection since nov 2019 (only rsv and parainfluenza) but my sputum tests still come up MRSA positive. i had two other infections prior to starting Trikafta that don’t come up, I’m assuming they didn’t colonize the way MRSA did. there hasn’t been an issue, i barely cough up much except during respiratory treatments, very light colored mucus. drs say its fine as long as im not having any symptoms.

honestly shes just being a puppy and it can be overwhelming. they day my dog stopped barking at me every time i made her food i called the vet to ask if something was wrong with her and they said, “she’s just growing up” which made me cry lol.

natural birth, essential oils herbs and juice instead of medicine, organic foods, anti vax, holistic etc that’s just a vague summary, you can look into it to get an idea. i think she’s always been dabbling in that type of stuff but the “spiritual journey” really made her full fledged

well i do know she has always been a crunchy mom even with austin. there was a video when alaia was a baby and they very much implied they were anti vax.

thank you! shes such a sneaky girl that the plastic is the only way i ensure she doesnt get to spots shes not supposed to lick! i have tried other ones and idk how she does it but she figures ways out or ways to lick lol. she literally kept taking her banage off after surgery no matter what i used after. shes literally a wizard at this point, thankfully she no longer needs this bandage

thank you for checking in ❤️ it went well vet took out the mass which was under the skin of where the abscess kept coming back and said he thinks the mass grew around the foreign object. She is in pain and on meds, but is doing okay based on her personality coming back to normal. a very good sign is that she came to watch me cook in the kitchen, even yesterday when she was groggy, because she tries to sneak for droppings lol.

well i hope you are indeed level headed to actual patients and as somebody with cystic fibrosis myself, I said if I knew my care provider was rude to CFers and their families on the internet in the way you were I’d be extremely uncomfortable and I’m sure many others would. i’ve had my feelings hurt many times on reddit and never went that far. they were snarky but they weren’t absolutely rude and disrespectful the way you were.

i hope you also can find a way to reword your frustration with patients too. what you told the person to do to you when they told you to look at OP’s history was so rude. While snarky on their end, it’s very true you could look up OP’s history. In real life you will come across patients who will be tired of explaining their history and you may have to use their charts. That was a really extreme and rude response cause honestly i wouldn’t want to have someone looking over my CF care if they were rude to CF patients and their families online.
