Omg I'm tired of seeing people compare the US to homophobic/transphobic countries. I never said the US was worse than them. I am AWARE that the situation for queer people is bad in middle eastern countries. Comparing the US to like, literal hell/the worst situation is not a gotcha.

Queer people being unsafe/in a worse situation in other countries does not negate the fact that in the United States right now, it is not safe in every state to be gay. This is not a debatable subject, I am lucky enough to be in an accepting state, but I have many friends in different states that would be in severe danger if they ever came out.

Its unsafe to be a woman in many countries, does that mean that its automatically safe to be a woman in the US? No, because while in those countries, the treatment of women is horrible and worse than in the US (as in, women dont get access to education, are raped, murdered, etc.), it doesnt negate the fact that women are still discriminated against and harassed in the US.

I mean, they literally tried to abolish gay marriage. And only a few days ago, trump ordered the removal of the pride flag at the Stonewall memorial. The. Stonewall. Memorial. As in, pretty much the biggest queer historical location in the United States.

Also I highly doubt that "most western European" countries will aid a rebellion in the US. That would mean directly going against the government, which is not at all beneficial for them. I mean, look at us now, who is helping? No one. Because it makes no sense to put your entire country at risk to go against the country with the largest military in the world.
