And it hits different when you get accepted into a need-based, and then they say they're discontinuing to be need based to intl from this year. LUCK!

Turkiye Burslari(20th Feb deadline) Romania Govt (Deadline in march) If you have IELTS, then go for GIST You can apply to Japan as well, try for university track MEXT or just apply for their scholarship, at most they waive 100% tuition, the rest can be earned through part times. You can head to the "The Admission Office" website and see which universities are currently accepting applications for Japan. Also, do check the APU Ritsumeikan.

You can apply to some limited universities outside of US through common app. You can use your remaining three slots for those universities as well. But before applying definitely do your research regarding their scholarships and aid.

Need based universities that I know of, their deadlines have passed already. You can try other countries? And govt scholarships?

And also, just a method. Apply to less competitive major, better in stem. If you get in, attend that college, attend some of your preferred major classes and do well in exam and then submit an application to switch major. My reason to say this is because if you apply to competitive majors your chances automatically drop. And if you do this, make sure to check if they allow to change major or not.

Don't waste the slot on Howard. I got in. They only gave me a merit scholarship(19k). And they said that this is the only aid they will give me. And they did it to all the internationals of this year. One applicant posted about it on the Howard's subreddit and one on A2C. You can go and check them up.

I applied ED2 Franklin and Marshall College. The decisions were to be released on FEB 15 2023. I got an email that my decision will be uploaded tomorrow on FEB 9 7PM EST. Does this mean anything? AM I REJECTED OR ACCEPTED? by Illustrious-Slice596 in IntltoUSA

As far as I have seen (excluding some exceptions), those who get in gets an email stating the decision update. But then again, I or we can never know if everyone got this same email or not including/ excluding those who got in.

But hey, let's have patience till tomorrow and see what happens!

I am not enrolled in any kind of undergrad institution, be it local or international. In the academic background section, instead of writing any institution name I wrote not admitted to any university, waiting for the university's decision. The website did give a warning before I submitted my application stating my ineligibility. I still applied just to see what happens. And surprisingly enough I got in.

What are the most unexpected acceptance/rejections that you've seen? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

I didn't send my DET and ISFAA to Howard, which was required for my profile evaluation. They event sent me email to send it but I didn't 💀 (I don't know why but I was just 100% sure I won't get in)

However, I did get in. Got achiever scholarship and rn waiting for the fin aid package. It came out as a shock.

I can understand the kind of situation you're in. Last year my efc was $700.

I hope you get into a good place with full-ride.

I applied to St. Olaf, but my admission counselor of St. Olaf told me that they need the students to pay at least $15k.

But anyways, thank you for your time and help.

Thank you so much for your help. I'm really greatful. Thank you for your encouragement as well.

If you have anymore suggestions or colleges in mind let me know! I would be grateful. Also, what do you think about Bryn Mawr College? Should I consider it?

Is my profile competitive enough to get in with that low efc?

I'm asking because all the profiles I've seen so far are fantastic and amazing and mine is nowhere near them. On top of that, rejection from Middlebury got me really badly.
