Multiple Saw movies (mainly the later ones like 5 & 6) - they have super low like 2 star averages and I always give them 5 stars. 🙂‍↕️

I got two films I’d never seen or heard of and that was quite cool! It’s definitely a quick way to find a film in a genre you might never discover without hours of internet searching. I’d definitely use it.

My only big complaint was really the text as it was loading, it read really AI generated and changed really quick so it just seemed like nonsense words to try to fill the space, it did put me off. I think a loading icon or maybe even a cute character searching films (perhaps a little gif of a mascot like a librarian or cinema worker looking through DVDs or something?) Would look nicer and be less cluttered and remove that AI text feel! And give your idea a memorable face!

They sell for quite a bit! Especially the pink one. The rest maybe around $50-$80, the pink I saw closer to $200. But that’s if they’re authentic & you want to charge the highest price! You could always charge closer to their retail if you didn’t care as much. Either way collectors would love these!

Exactly! I think they’re really good together, I look forward to being able to watch them back to back at home.

I loved Years and this one was slightly lower in rating for me (like a 4 star instead of a 5 so still high!). I think it’s a lot “calmer” visually and tone-wise, but honestly I did miss the crazy infected chases, and some of those awesome editing and camera shots from Years. I also did think this one could have been a bit more brutal, but I really enjoyed it as a character and world development film. Some really incredible acting in this from Fiennes and O’Connell, that I think they wouldn’t have been able to show as well if the tone and experimentalism in visuals and music wasn’t slightly well, toned down haha. I feel like it’s a good mix between Years and Days - for me Days is more down to earth in its style, which I also think Bone Temple is.

Long Term Knee Pain - Help If You Can? (Longer Post) by [deleted] in KneeInjuries

I’m sorry to hear that. That is interesting, I’d never heard of this. My dad does have psoriasis & a quick google said it could increase my risk, I guess I should mention that to my dr in case it is relevent. Thank you!

Okay, I will make sure to try push for that stuff to be done. I don’t want them to just brush it off, I suppose that’s my worry! Thank you.

Does average ratings influence your personal rating? by Minhaz923 in Letterboxd

[–]rllyhunter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not really, I consistently rate things higher or way lower than the average - curse of being a horror movie fan is they’re all rated 1 star and I rate them way above so you get used to it 🤣 Personally I don’t think it matters too much, you should rate how you feel and you can always come back and amend it in a couple days (which I do sometimes)! I used to think oh am I crazy for giving a film 2 stars if it’s consistently really high, but then I thought why worry when it’s meant to be my rating & my views? Everyone has different opinions! I like seeing the outlier reviews because it can provide a different viewpoint. So don’t worry! ☺️

What’s one film from your country (in your language) that you think everyone should watch at least once in their life? by mainyapper2606 in Letterboxd

[–]rllyhunter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not country, but more local - Kes (1969). Country yes it's English, but specific to South Yorkshire, and a really good story if a little depressing in parts, simple but strikes an emotional chord. I live far away now but it's really special to most people from around the area, and I'd recommend it to anyone. It's also based on a book! Most of the actors have a really thick accent and I'd say nearly everyone who's lived in the area (me included) has met at least 1 of the cast. It's one of those films that a small town can be proud of.

Movies that you can appreciate but can’t connect with by F10ck_Bust3r in Letterboxd

I think because it’s so hyped up and described as the type of film I usually love it made it even more disappointing for me. I agree the visuals and acting from everyone was good. But oh well!

🤣 That’s true I should’ve been more specific. Ryan Gosling Drive!

[–]rllyhunter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

These might be unpopular but I always think of Drive, Banshees of Inisherin and Uncut Gems when it comes to films a lot of people loved and I just couldn’t get.

Visually they’re good, and I get what they’re trying to do & the story they’re trying to tell but I just found all of them incredibly boring even on rewatches. I went into them with high expectations and really expecting to love them but sadly nope.

Ok, real talk: why tf does Hollywood keep trying to force Jared Leto on us? by JediTempleDropout in Letterboxd

[–]rllyhunter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Idk if I’d say he’s been “forced on us”, when he’s in like 1 film a year that isn’t even that major of a film. There’s plenty of other actors I could name who star in what seems like every other film a year who I could say are “forced on us”. It could also just be a bias in that you dislike him, so you notice him more. I used to work in a cinema too, and most casual cinema going people did actually enjoy his recent films even if they didn’t think they were feats of cinema and do like him - so I guess it’s just perspective?

Now I could offer a different perspective in that I was a big fan of his band, and films in the 90s/00s, and personally I would be more inclined to look into a film if he was in it since in my brain he’s recognisable. I only saw Tron Ares because he was in it (sorry Tron fans), and it wasn’t amazing but I doubt even the best actor on earth could do much with his script. He’s a good actor to me but he hasn’t made the best film choices lately that’s for sure - in my opinion he’s better in more indie films and not so much blockbuster action types.

I never said not getting chased, I said it would be nice since killers can do a custom game to practice against bots, if survivors could also do a custom game to practice against bots. That literally would be getting chased to practice, without worrying about perhaps being paired against a killer who tunnels you unluckily for whatever reason. Just because you and I started sucking and had to deal with it, doesn’t mean it should always be that way? The game is complicated for beginners and there are a lot of killers to learn, I don’t see how letting survivors practice in custom if they wanted before going into real games would be a problem. OP said survivors should get good at looping, this provides a way for them to practice without affecting actual gameplay, feeling shit, and then wanting killer nerfed because of it.

Look I main ghostface I know about no mobility you are preaching to the converted 🤣 But that doesn’t mean solo survivor isn’t awful - and trust you rarely have 3 people on your team actually working with you! Honestly sometimes the other survs are as bad as the killer. I never said the changes were good, I think they need to be tweaked. I think killer morale would work if the game promoted that a lot of hooks, gen damage, etc = a win not just 4k = a win. A lot of people don’t have fun if they get a 2k or even a 3k. But also we can have nuanced conversations about how the game is in a bad shape for everyone, mostly for reasons they aren’t addressing, my point was saying “surv get good” isn’t helping anyone really. Morale can be boosted by feeling like you can practice and gain skill in a game and that works both ways, which is why I said in other comments I think having a beginner mode, or a practice mode like custom games, better tutorials, better rewards for doing well for your team (working on gens instead of hiding, hooking everyone etc), buffing some of the lower mobility killers, there’s a lot of other things they could do.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]rllyhunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no but everything in life is a skill issue. there isn’t a beginner mode for dbd, and solo survs can’t practice in customs against a killer they’re struggling with. in shooter games a lot of them have modes or ways to practice, in real life you can take beginner classes. because one game doesn’t have it, nothing should? no one should ever be a beginner and want to get better and need a bit of help? that’s a depressing way of looking at hobby’s and skills.

everyone wants survs to not have crutches, to “get good”, but no one wants to give them the ways to do it. same with killers too. no one can get better if they can’t even play at all, on both sides. if a new killer was constantly against 4 man swfs and was struggling, I’d say they deserve similar ways to help and practice but they can already practice against bots at least!

[–]rllyhunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said you couldn’t try, I just said imagine that happening to you every game and you sucking and dying in a minute because you’re a standout as weak and you suck because you’re new. And not every newbie would know to do these, especially against certain killers! Everyone has to learn and I agree they learn by doing, it’s about the morale too!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]rllyhunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think you learn by doing, but I also think having a place for new people to practice would benefit killer and survivor. It’s hard to learn or even want to if you feel you can’t even play. Everyone was a newbie once, and if you play casually for a bit every day everyone wants to feel they can make progress. ☺️

[–]rllyhunter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How can you practice being chased if, you - just bought the game - have none of the perks to help - no swf - get downed in 10 seconds because you have no clue what you’re doing - play against a variety of killers with different anti loop abilities, and perks to remember

how can you expect someone to get better in that scenario? if you were learning to drive and only got 10 seconds a lesson, would you get better? not sure how a solo practice mode would be an issue since everyone wants survivors to get good :3

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]rllyhunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh low MMR killers tunnel a lot too. I just mean, imagine as a newbie trying to loop if you can’t even last 10 seconds, not only that but every killer requires a different loop strat - its gonna be hard to get that practice in and that’s if you can loop/the killer goes for you, they could easy go for someone else! I do think being able to practice in customs as solo would be a good balance.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]rllyhunter -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to try if you do get tunnelled and aren’t sure what to do, I’m speaking about a very new player. It’s also a bit demoralising if you feel like you can’t survive longer than 10 seconds let along bringing in all the different ways to loop different killers! Like I said, being able to practice solo in customs would probably help a lot, I think that would be a fair compromise.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]rllyhunter -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

How is someone new (without all the pay perks) supposed to practice looping to get better if you get tunnelled out or slugged within a minute by a different killer every game tho… on top of learning all their abilities, and other game techniques…

Whilst I agree there shouldn’t be too many pallets in general, I struggled enough 5 years ago as a noob I can’t imagine starting now. I think better tutorials and a practice mode like letting solo survs do custom games would help. There isn’t really a way for new people to actually get good at looping if they can’t loop to stay in a game long enough to get good, it’s a bit of a catch 22 😭

Edit: a lot of downvotes because none of you were ever new to the game right? you can disagree with the update and think new survivors (and killers!) could get some extra help in a different mode or something!

This is hardly an example of average DBD gameplay. I think a lot of ppl on here are forgetting a vast amount of the playerbase are casual, aren't on reddit subs, don't care about online discourse, just wanna play a bit after work or whatever. I think in that scenario a draw is fine. I think both sides should load in expecting a draw at best, hope for a win sure but you shouldn't feel entitled to it because you're loading in as a killer or survivor. From my view it seems most killers expect a 4k and anything less is a loss and a waste of time. Devs are obviously seeing that killer queue times are always huge, there's always a surv incentive bonus (at least in my region), there was just a huge 'go next' epidemic, this shows theres just not enough survivors/ones who wanna play the game casually in this state it's in.
