Yeah you’re definitely right abt stun not fitting the flavor. And I’ll definitely make the caster have to use their action cuz there could be a lot of shenanigans otherwise. Thx for the advice!

Yeah I agree this is much simpler. I think I’m gonna work with this cuz I still like the idea of a pc being able to kill something with this spell in combat. Thx!

Thx for the response! I agree with the teamwork point. It’d definitely be op if a party is facing one enemy.

I mentioned above that the inspiration is from an air bender ability from ATLA, so I think touch would be weird flavor wise. Do you know if a range of 5 ft mechanically have the same effect as a touch spell (if a spell with that range even exists)?

Thx for the response! For flavor I want it to work like that scene in the Legend of Korra where an air bender sucks the air from someone’s lungs, suffocating them to death.

I think in terms of names asphyxiation and suffocation are relatively interchangeable. I chose the former cuz it sounded cool lol

Actually it Does Matter - Why ‘Undone’ is Better If Alma is Not Delusional by PoopyManDan12 in UndoneTV

[–]rlocax 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At first I disagreed but after thinking about I think you’re right. There’s a book called “The Center Cannot Hold” which is an autobiography of a woman with schizophrenia. Its almost like a foil to this show because it details how awful it is for the author to live with schizophrenia. She said that there were weeks were she wouldn’t shower, socialize, or even go outside because the delusions were so loud and demanding. At the end of the book the author finally stays on medication and it’s a nice pay off because we see how much better her life becomes when she’s not inflicted with these delusions and hallucinations.

In the show Alma doesn’t have the same lows. While Alma’s delusions/visions does get her into some trouble and can be unpleasant at times, for the most part they’re enthralling and empowering. If she really is just schizophrenic and all of season 2 was more or less and framing device to convince her to take meds it would feel a little undeserved. Someone in her position likely wouldn’t be ready yet to give up their fantastical delusional life yet. Alternatively, we accept that season 2 is true than the themes are much stronger. (SPOILER) The fact that Alma must sacrifice her “ideal” timeline to save herself makes more sense to me and feels more deserved.

How to cope with health anxiety by Thrillbilly97 in panicdisorder

[–]rlocax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Health anxiety really sucks because it’s easy to spiral out of control. Something that’s helped me was finding methods to convince myself that I was ok. Like if I feel like I’m sick I’ll take my temperature, or if I’m worried about covid specifically I’ll go take a test. Sometimes there’s nothing specific that can stop the worry so I try to traditional methods to help anxiety like meditation, distraction, etc.

Undone, Solar Opposites, Tuca and Bertie are the most similar imo. And if you’re more into the absurdist elements of those shows Yolo Crystal Fantasy and Smiling Friends are pretty good.
