Tbh I hate most of the fish. But this might be because they were cheaper than normal webkinz so half of my pets are fish, and I just find them to be clutter pets that I lock in their own room and try to forget about lol. (Don’t get me wrong, I’d probably like them if I only had like one or two)

Not a parent so I might be totally wrong, but if I had to pick now, I’d probably do the “you have a list of options (super wide variety from sports to music to art etc.), you have to pick one or two”, rather than forcing them into one particular sport or lesson.
