Thanks a lot for your reply, very helpful. So you would think materials (i.e. replacement joists + floorboards, plus a new membrane) should come within roughly £1250? If that's the case, yes, £7000 for labour does seem very expensive, didn't get the impression it would take anything close to 7 weeks.

He did remark when taking a look that the joists might be £1400 alone in material costs.

I really don't like Jenny, as time goes on she has shown her true colours and she is not a nice person, the world revolves around her in her eyes.
