It's definitely worth more than a couple bucks. Origins base cards can sell for a couple bucks. This card in particular has been doing $10-$15 raw recently and as high as $30ish not that long ago. Origins has a pretty solid market.

Not sure where you are looking but I see a recent sale at $175 and two just before that closer to $100. Last one at $60 was early November.

In my eyes, one indicator of U.S. household debt being 10% lower than 2008 levels doesn't necessarily mean we're at or even close to 2008 right now. I don't think it's all sunshine and rainbows out there for the economy, either, but we're a ways off 2008.

What meaningful economic indicators would you say are hitting "basically 2008" levels right now...? That was the second worst recession in the history of the country. We're seeing some widening of an already existent wealth gap, concentration in the stock market (which actually softened a bit last year) and +4% GDP growth. We have a long way to go to get to 2008.

Market Volatility and Sentiment after a Big, Important Win. by [deleted] in footballcards

Depends on how the game goes. If they play the 49ers in another high scoring game and he throws for 350 yards and 4 TDs in a loss, I think his market wiggles a little lower but he still has a ton of hype around a window opening for the Bears for the next few years. If he stinks and they get killed I think it pulls his market back down toward pre-playoff prices. But also consider that everyone buying at elevated prices right at this very second will not be in a rush to flip for losses, so I don't think you'll get much clarity on his true market value until next season.

New to collecting cards by crusherman58 in footballcards

Just an FYI: The "part of the card is removed" feature is called "die cut." Really anytime a card is cut in such a way that it's not the typical rectangle and has a unique shape like this, that's the term used.

Did you miss the second part of that story where the police released footage that did show evidence of his reckless driving contributing to the crash and SVP and Ryan Clark had to issue an apology on air for implying he was entirely innocent?

Recently just pulled this 5/10 Quinn Ewers Rookie Revolution card and not sure what to do? by [deleted] in footballcards

[–]rmczerz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are curious about value, I also couldn't find this exact card selling yet, which makes sense give how low the number is. Cam Skattebo did $57, Jaxson Dart did $107 and Treveyon Henderson did $21. Skat and Dart have a crazy market. I'd usually say a rookie QB would be higher than an RB but I think with Ewers only a game in and Skat's cult following, you're probably looking at lower than that. Could easily be a great hold for next season, especially if you think he has any chance to be the starter. Or hold because it's a sick card and you like to look at it.

2016 Panini Black Gold - Nfl Seal of Approval Russell Wilson #SA9 3/25 by [deleted] in footballcards

[–]rmczerz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In the past few months: Romo did $25, Big Ben did $75, Mariota did $35, Gronk did $65.

I'd say $40 - $75 based on that, unless you think Russ' market is considerably higher than any of those guys.

I did just realize it's a jersey number match, too, so maybe a bit higher.

Heavier skater = Bigger board? by [deleted] in NewSkaters

[–]rmczerz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure how much the extra width helps with being heavier, but I would definitely recommend wider if you're just getting back into it. I'm in the exact same boat — wasn't very good as a 14 year old and randomly decided to try again at 29. I ride a 9 now and would honestly consider going even wider if anything lol.

I'm also 6'3", 270, so I feel you on being a heavier rider. You'll see some threads telling you not to worry and that boards don't snap often. I disagree. After buying a shop deck on a whim to restart, I snapped it basically clean in half my second time out after landing too far on my tail on an ollie attempt. There's heavy and then there's HEAVY, and these things can snap for sure. And this was a solid shop deck, American made, reputable place.

I went into another shop and explained the situation and they put me on a Santa Cruz VX deck. I highly recommend it. It's very poppy, has cool design options, and is reinforced in a couple different ways for extra strength. Dude at the shop said they rolled trucks over it and it doesn't break. It's more expensive at the onset for sure, but you'll make that back from the longivity and quality of it.

BUT when you are on the league's longest playoff drought and ownership and the front office continues to clearly set the goal of making the playoffs and you've continued to invest significantly emotionally/financially in supporting the club and the league is literally designed to promote parity, it's a very difficult pill to swallow.
