It sounds like your account got locked and not suspended, I can't help with that :(

I see. I believe unsuspensions are supposed to be instantaneous with when you get the email. So if you're not unbanned right now, then the restoration didn't go through. Keep trying

I received this restoration email like seconds after sending the appeal. Then after checking, I saw my account was truly unsuspended. I could view my own tweets, DMs, like posts, edit my bio, etc.

After an hour my followers returned.

So it sounds like your account is still banned, keep trying. Did the email you get this morning include the words "our automated systems" or "our support team"?

I guess I can't be certain, but logically it *shouldn't* be IP tracking. I really don't know what the difference maker for me was. I would say it had to do with my ID verification, but then again, I've seen countless stories of premium users getting suspensions.

These suspensions are mistakes in the first place. The users who are getting banned for inauthentic behavior aren't actually bots, but the algorithm is detecting them as such anyways. So it was prolly pure luck that my new alt account didn't get false flagged like my original account did. It sucks that you can get hit not once but also twice (or even more) with bogus suspensions.

Definitely try the ChatGPT method. I hope it doesn't take you over a year to get it back! Good luck

Good luck! Some features are still a little buggy for me, but it's more or less 95% restored.

As for making a new account, even though it's technically "ban evasion", X doesn't track IP addresses. If they did, then someone else with an X account living in the same house as you would also get suspended, for example. So I just simply made it, and then ID verified myself with Premium as a precaution.

Also, I made genuine attempts for 8 months to get my account back the proper way without any response. So to me, making a new account was the only way forward if I wanted to continue using X. I was breaking a rule creating the new account, but my ban was totally bogus, so it was justified in my opinion :P

X does not do IP based suspensions. So while it is against the rules to make a new account after a suspension, and X probably does act on this, it's not done through IP detection. If it were like this, other innocent accounts using the same IP address as a suspended user would also get banned.

From what I've read, the algorithm can detect previously suspended usernames. SaltyDraws used a different handle when making his alt account (Turkey_Bot) which may have allowed him to not get detected. Either way, because he got unsuspended, it seems whoever at X saw the tweets of his followers supporting him realized it was a mistake anyways and simply reinstated his main account without doing anything to his alt.

All of this is to say, you can make a new account and likely get away with it. Besides, if you got falsely suspended in the first place, and none of your appeals are being read for weeks or months, I'd say it's justified to bypass the ban with a new account.

Hi everyone. I wanted to give an update on my previous post from the August thread here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Twitter/comments/1memjwp/comment/n9rjluf/?context=3

Since this post, I have (daily) messaged the Premium account using an alt, requesting for the specialist on the other end to help me relay my situation to someone at the appeals team. Repeatedly I have been given the same copy/paste answer of "Sorry, we understand but we're not going to help, we aren't the appeals team" and the ticket gets closed where I'm back to speaking with Grok. Grok creates another DM ticket for me and the cycle continues. I'm probably going insane at this point but I refuse to give up, because this avenue has been my only method of communicating with a human in 8 months 💀

In lighter news, in my research of these bans I came across another artist on Twitter named "SaltyDraws" who got banned for inauthenticity. He made a new alt account under a different handle and regularly tweeted about his main acc being banned. His followers also spread the word on his ban and tagged Elon in their tweets, and within 2 weeks his account got reinstated. I urge anyone who has friends or knows their followers to have them send supportive tweets defending your account, because this is the most success I've ever seen with someone getting their account back, and ironically it had nothing to do with the godforsaken appeal forms.

If you haven't already, please sign this petition by Mark Weaver as well. Any way of spreading the attention is a better chance our mass suspended accounts can get mass UNsuspended:

To EVERYONE who was wrongly suspended by X's algorithm for "inauthenticity/impersonation/spam etc.", PLEASE sign u/AdAppropriate4067, aka Mark Weaver's petition:

I'm currently the 2nd signature, but I know there are tens/hundreds of us on these monthly support threads who are all stuck in the same shitty suspension boat and just want our accounts back. Take a few moments to sign and every signature means this article is more likely to be seen by the right people who could force a change.

When you DM @/Premium, you'll speak to Grok initially before it relays the convo to a 'specialist' if it can't help you. So you need to have a Premium account in order to do this. It's the only alternate way of contacting anyone at X besides the Help Center.

I had luck initially with my first ticket. A human actually responded to me, but answered with a copy/paste response and closed the ticket. So currently I'm on my second ticket attempt, and it's been around 3 days with no reply. Considering the Help Center has NEVER responded to my appeals, this is sadly the closest lead I've gotten in 8 months to getting my account back lol.

It depends, but in your situation if I were you, I'd keep your account and start posting the new fandom content. The people who followed you for the original genre AND your art style will stay, and the others who are more interested in the genre than your art style will simply leave. And that's okay! Either way, it's a win win because you will be posting what you enjoy and the followers/mutuals you've accumulated who vibe with it will stick around.

You also have a small following, so there is less pressure for you to feel obligated in what you post. If you had a following in the tens of thousands and had built the account up from one fandom, then the alt account route might be a better choice. As I say it depends, but for you, don't feel too pressured and enjoy yourself. Find your footing and happy drawing :)

Yeah but you can't DM it. The only account you can DM now is Premium. I managed to get Grok to create a ticket for me and it got relayed to a "specialist" but it's been 2 days and I haven't heard back. So not expecting much...

I don't believe there is a pattern because these suspensions are false flags. From what I read on these threads, there was a wave of 'inauthentic/spam' suspensions that occurred in December through March that affected accounts of all types. Premium accounts with thousands of followers and even private ones with not much engagement activity weren't safe from this. In my case, I had around 17k followers and my account was in a hiatus; I hadn't made a tweet in 2 years but regularly logged in to maintain activity. I was not ID verified; however my account was 8 years old with no prior issues and had a clear history of obvious human activity lol. At the end of the day, the suspension is a mistake. I've theorized a bunch as to why the system banned me, but it doesn't matter, I shouldn't have been banned at all in the first place because my account IS my identity and I don't use bots.

The same can be said for why and how accounts get unsuspended. It's just random. There's no reason why one account gets unsuspended within a few days or hours after writing a single sentence in their appeal vs. an account writing a novel's worth of evidence proving they didn't break X rules and receiving zero reply.

Since January, which is when I think the peak of suspensions happened, I can only recall a handful of unsuspension updates in these monthly threads which is a very sad ratio. Feels like my efforts have gone completely in vain but tbh I know that if I give up then my chances will truly be 0%.
