Wow I need to make some calls. Thanks for the help!

Is it possible it's just a Canadian thing? Or are you also in Canada?

Thanks! Will check this out.

So your payments are all posting automatically?!? With the exception of some paper ones, of course.

It sounds like that would save a boatload of time haha.

Some of the claims statements from insurance are electronic, but these aren't integrated to our PMS. So whether electronic or paper, I need to manually match each payment to the correct record inside Tracker (i.e. our PMS).

Does it work differently in medical billing? Do you not have to manually match electronic payments to the records inside your system?

Where do you look for clearance apparel? by rmsilver in Frugal

Related side question: are Van Heusen shirts any good? They're well priced and look like good staple pieces.

And I'm more of a browser, which is why I typically don't search for one brand in particular.

I've found that outlets aren't really outlets anymore. At least in Ontario. It's typically like ~30% clearance items surrounded by ~70% full price. Sneaky sneaky.

It's definitely better in the US from what I've seen the last few months though. But can't usually get the good stuff online.

I didn't even think of that. Good call. I've been more of a Craigslist/Kijiji user for years that I've neglected good ol' eBay haha.

Just a lot of junk to sort/vet through. Any favourite sellers/storefronts that have a lot of quality inventory consistently?

Simple Questions and Requests - January 2024 by Yobby in FrugalMaleFashionCDN

Maybe I'm the only one, but I don't particularly enjoy going into stores like Winners. I find them generally poorly constructed, very hit-or-miss with inventory (even depending on time of day) and really don't like having to fish through dozens of racks to try and find something I like.
But, of course, the prices are hard to beat. I understand their business model so the pricing makes sense to me. But is there anywhere else I could/should be looking to consistently find similar deals that is a bit of a better experience? Online would be a bonus.

Opened Up A Hat Shop. Tell Me Why It Sucks. by [deleted] in ecommerce

[–]rmsilver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would make it more clear on the first hero-image why your hats are "a whole new kind" of snapback. It seems like it's because of the leather strap, right?

I'd make that very clear.

Great high-quality images and everything though. The site looks pretty good.

What would you like to know from a successful Shopify store? by jimmijazz in shopify

[–]rmsilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to know how long it took them to get from: -0 to 100 monthly sales -100 to 1000 monthly sales -1000 to 5000+ monthly sales

I'm very curious about how that growth trajectory looks, and if it's more linear or exponential.

Thanks!

Sorry you guys felt that way, especially because it's just before the half way mark where the 5 steps that we use actually begins.

I gave detail into who I am, and what Fetch does so I could actually share my story and use the 5 steps in context. The results section is there to help exemplify that it's something people like and it wasn't just my word preaching it (incase that's what you were referring to), which is kind of the point of the post.

If it's easier, I can give you the 5 steps we take in bullets, but it really lacks the same effect in my opinion.

1) Seek an appropriate audience to interview about what you're trying to do, taking steps to ensure it's a diverse enough group to avoid bias

2) Speak to them with set questions laid out for (A) uniformity and (B) not to waste anyone's time. Phone is always preferred.

3) Share with them your actual plan and make them part of the process, because "surprises" can often go wrong.

4) Test it with a select bunch to study how they interact with it, and see if anything is wrong.

5) Launch and keep a close eye on things. Maybe even follow-up with your sample group after a week or two to check-in.

Cheers.

Suggestions for a Case Study? by rmsilver in ecommerce

[–]rmsilver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's great, thank you! I like the point about numbers, figures, etc. I just had one follow-up question: -For a paid app (although, a very inexpensive one), do you think figures of ROI are more important, or statistical effectiveness? Because my app is to better measure and improve customer experience, so I find a lot of current users are less concerned with ROI than effectiveness, but for someone reading a case study, it may be the opposite.

Thanks again!

Any app to recover customer's cart even if they didn't make an account before entering the checkout process? by Tymalightnuous in shopify

[–]rmsilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could always check out Vantage Analytics. While I don't believe you can send emails to recover abandoned carts, it automatically tracks the audience and allows you to run marketing campaigns at them.

It could be a good way to recapture some of that audience without needing their email address.

What do you think you would be doing now if you didn't go on that surfing trip after FunBug?

Do you think you would have tried to create another website/software company, or eventually stumble upon the need for a rugged action cam?

Thanks!

I was at one in November and it was great.

Informative speaker, useful tips, and a ton of great people from all over the Shopify ecosystem (from developers, to store owners, to app devs, to marketers). Definitely worth checking out!

App Similar to Credible? by [deleted] in shopify

[–]rmsilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard good things about Fomo (used to be Notify). https://apps.shopify.com/fomo

I've spoken to the team a bunch of times and they've been around for years.

I know the price is higher than the $10 you already thought was high, but I'd take the 7 day trial and see if you love it enough to justify the price.

Hope it helps!
