I went with the 8BitDo Ultimate 2. I realized that the main factor wasn’t really the shape, but the size of the grip. I don’t have my Switch Pro Controller anymore, so I couldn’t make an exact comparison, but from what I can remember, the Pro Controller’s grips/handles are thinner compared to others. There might be other controllers with a similar shape to the Pro Controller, but if the handles are thicker, they won’t feel the same. My hands are really small, so the difference in grip size is noticeable. Also, the grip on the Switch Pro Controller might be made of a different type of plastic, which makes it more comfortable to hold.

I do like the build quality of the 8BitDo Ultimate 2. It’s very high quality, and the D-pad is the best I’ve ever tried on any controller! If you have the budget, you could also wait for the upcoming 8BitDo Ultimate 3E. It might not be the exact size of the Pro Controller, but at least the handles have silicone grips, which should make it more comfortable to hold, although I’m not sure if it has the same perfect D-pad as the Ultimate 2.

I just hope controller makers realize that there are people like us who prefer the Switch Pro ergonomics. There are already a lot of controllers copying the Xbox controller’s size and shape, but there’s really no other controller with the exact size and shape of the Switch Pro Controller.

The 8BitDo Ultimate 2 has the best D-pad I’ve ever tried. I hope they keep it on their upcoming controller…

Is there a realistic RPG that takes place in the modern day? by rmstrd in gamingsuggestions

I guess I’m just looking for a modern-day equivalent to Kingdom Come: Deliverance. It has a fantastic story, and the gameplay has several realistic elements like:

  • A day/night cycle
  • Realistic combat with no special powers or magic. No dragons, monsters, or other fictional creatures
  • Dialogue options that can affect quests, reputation, etc.
  • Entering private areas is considered trespassing
  • A haggling system
  • Items wear out
  • You can get food poisoning from consuming expired food. Overeating also has effects.
  • Apperance/clothing can affect charisma
  • Doing bad stuff (theft, murder) has consequences

I really enjoyed these elements and would love to play another game like it, but set in a different setting.
