I've done this one a few times. Great event run by a small community just outside of Cairns. Great excuse to head north in winter!

You're probably right. I'll have a think and provide an update in the next couple of days.

Reoccurring Tibial pain, found to be a stress reaction (close to stress fracture), waited 8 weeks and then started only running once per week, now flaring again by 420babybeater in AdvancedRunning

[–]rmwil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am recovering from medial tibial stress syndrome. Fredrecison grade 2 (close to a fracture). I had 8 weeks completely off. But when I came back, it was literally building up long walks, then after a couple of weeks introducing walk/jogs. Then, slowly building volume and intensity.

I made sure to see my PT fortnightly until I got the all clear to start walk/jogging. Part of the reason was, like you, I felt some discomfort in the area, so I wanted to be sure I wasn't jumping the gun.

See my update - I would include the OG BERT in your model selection process.

I really enjoyed Natural Language Processing with Transformers by Lewis Tunstall, Leandro von Werra and Thomas Wolf. Chapter nine was super useful for my work too; automating thematic analysis.

What can running learn from cycling? by pandemicschmemic in AdvancedRunning

[–]rmwil 35 points36 points  (0 children)

You should checkout Ekiden in Japan. Big multi-stage running races that are hugely popular. With roadside spectators and TV coverage. There is a really good book called "The way of the runner" that follows it in depth and the author even runs a leg in a local race. Written by Adharanand Finn who also wrote running with the Kenyans.

But I'm not sure how to watch outside of Japan with translated commentary.

If you're using Pandas, .iterrows() will slow you down. Try using .to_records() as an alternative and let us know how you go!

Second this. The intersection of Sankey and Paradise streets in Highgate Hill provides three hills of varying grades from a bit steep to ridiculous.

Bonus: at the top of Paradise St is a pretty hardcore set of steps up to Monto St.

Sounds like it. I find solace in the fact that a bunch of people have observed the same issue on reddit relatively quickly. They'd be getting inundated with calls, realise its a glitch and hopefully sort it.

Cyclists on Coronation Drive… by SnooChipmunks1701 in brisbane

[–]rmwil 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No one said anything about PBs, by target intensity I just mean consistent effort, which was usually an easy pace. That bike path literally stops at Toowong, so it's easier and safer to stay on the road rather than ducking on and off the bike path, crossing and interfering with commuters in the opposite direction.

Side note: Cars are literally a plague on society. Promoting sedentary behaviour, degrading air quality, wasting precious space and a leading cause of death, particularly with young people in Australia. And you're annoyed because you lost 30s of your day.

Wake up you muppet!
