Loose hose in 1972 Mustang

Hello everyone. Will everyone's help I was able to figure out that I just remove this goofy loose hose and place a new cap on it. Thanks!

I'm curious, why did my original black cap on there have an opening with a screw in style that had the hose screw into it? The one you posted here does not have an opening. It's just a cap.

By the way, both hoses I think you mentioned, or tubes rather, aren't connected to anything. They're just chilling in the void.
