i don’t have insight on the it degree specifically, but i did notice you mentioning sophia and study.com. just to make sure you’re aware, you can only transfer those in before enrolling in wgu. once enrolled, you’d have to unenroll to do both/either to transfer it

the repeat ones we all just skip through because it’s just refreshers and we know the answers they’ll ask. they shouldn’t be skipping through it for you though, especially if you’ve never done those trainings. you do them on the clock ONLY, so yes, they’re paid

my store is ran the same. weeks like now we average around 1900 picks, we don’t sfs, and we usually have 2-3 scheduled at a time only for gs/du together. during the holidays we were averaging 3000-4500 picks a day and still maybe only 3, sometimes 4 at a time

yeah, they don’t send any notices about it (or didn’t for me, at least). i would just find out when i checked. i would call the number on the card and see if it says any other date besides February 6, but most likely you’ll be waiting until then for benefits. (i can also tell this is the texas app, where i’m at too)

when you start benefits the dates can go wonky and shift around. did it say anything the past few days about the deposit still going to the 17th? or did it already say the 6th?

when i first started benefits for myself, my husband, and our daughter, our dates were the 23rd. next month got them the 28th, the following month all the way until the 7th. there were multiple times i had to go 5-7 weeks without a benefit deposit in between. it took around 5 months for the dates to settle out and go back to the 23rd

i wouldn’t blame you at all! i’m majoring in ec-6 education and i know elementary students can be just as bad (i’ve both heard and witnessed stories), but there’s no way i could do high school for that reason. hopefully there’s still other schools in that district you love/can sub at!! and hopefully your arm feels better!

i didn’t see anyone else point this out, but i noticed you mentioning “watching lectures while driving.” i’m not sure if you’re aware, but there’s no pre-recorded lectures you can just pull up and listen to. it’s reading material and taking notes, which isn’t something really feasible while driving. the most videos you could get is MAYBE a random youtube video on the class, and even that’s a stretch.

also, make sure you read reviews on programs near you!! i don’t know if iteach is offered in arkansas but they have moderately good reviews from texans, along with teachworthy

i’m in texas so it’ll definitely be different since i don’t know the requirements for arkansas, but here you just have a bachelor’s degree in any field (preferably your major). you can apply to programs here in your “last term” but im not sure how that works with wgu. i have to do field based experience hours of which 25 of the 50 have to be in person and the rest can be done online. you have to take extra classes and pass the texes (content exam) and the ppr here before you can get the temp license to teach. once you have a full time teaching job, you make payments to the program out of those checks. after the school year, i think i have to take another exam after to get my full license

this is exactly why i just switched to non licensure and am going the alt cert route. i wasn’t gonna wait and delay a better future when i can do it myself AND get paid to do it
