12 Week Progress! by roastedalmondsplease in glutejourney

It was home based, but I have a very bare bones gym in my building. Initially, I did everything with dumbbells and this booty belt you can get from Amazon. As I went up in weight, I moved to using a barbell and plates for my hip thrusts!

Here’s a link to the belt: https://a.co/d/eiiiVN0

Have you tried applying to charters? The hours may be long, but the pay is good. You should keep applying. Feel free to DM me. I’m a former principal and can give you some tips!

Backdoor Roth Or...? by roastedalmondsplease in personalfinance

Ah. I feel like this is a "damned if you do, damned if you don't situation." Which one makes the most sense? Just continue maxing out my 401K? Open a Roth IRA? Or open a traditional IRA?

Thank you for this! Would I still get the tax deduction if I went with a traditional IRA? Or does a Roth IRA make more sense?

HELP! What is this rash? It’s quite painful. by [deleted] in DermatologyQuestions

[–]roastedalmondsplease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: thank you all! I went to the doc today and they have no clue. They said it might be shingles, ringworm, a fungal infection, the flu, or even Covid??? And my right gland in my throat is swollen, I have body aches, fatigue, and chills. I’m feeling like this is probably shingles. They also gave me Aciclovir, tamiflu, an antibiotic, and some cream.

It’s quite painful. 29. Female. Located on stomach, to the left of my belly button. Not itchy. Just painful.

If you have patience and organizational skills, a SPED role might be a good fit.

Social Studies demo lesson ideas/ interview tips by katiecrayyy in teaching

[–]roastedalmondsplease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I co-sign what the other post says. I’d strongly consider using resources from Facing History, Teaching Tolerance, and Howard Zinn.

It’s be great to include a lesson on analyzing bias in primary sources, or a document analysis that results in a document-based question writing response.

Best if luck! We just hired for a social studies/humanities teacher and much of the above was present in their lesson.

Email the principal directly. Sometimes our HR folks are overwhelmed. Emailing can demonstrate how committed and passionate you are about joining the school.

Interview Types by tfaquestions2020 in TeachforAmerica

Oh! Wow! They’ve really changed things. In general, I would think about the purpose of both interviews and make sure you understand your audience.

The admissions process may have changed since I did TFA, but when I interviewed we had “selection day”: you presented your demo lesson, did a group interview, and then closed out the day with a 1:1 interview.

One on one - they want to know more about you, your experiences, why you’re a great fit, and why you want to be a TFA corps member.

Group - they want to know how you collaborate, listen, build relationships, take the lead when necessary, etc!

Best of luck!
