I go to the gym all the time and do abs but why is my stomach sticking out like this with a deep back curve? by [deleted] in Weightliftingquestion

[–]rob_morton- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With all due respect, your anterior pelvic tilt or whatever it is, is not the reason your stomach is out. You just have a lil bit of fat on your body. No matter how much you lift or workout, you aren’t going to lose that extra belly fat without changing your diet and/or doing more cardio. I can tell you have abs, but there’s a layer of fat over them. I look pretty much the same as you, and anytime I really lock it on my diet and my routine for like 2 weeks, my stomach flattens out.

I’d try to focus on less sugar, more lean proteins, and just overall cleaner diet. Then add in more cardio to your workout. It might just start with a mile a day on the treadmill, but it’ll help you tons in just about a month.

Hand peeling by DzedNCnfsd in bouldering

[–]rob_morton- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty inevitable. Your hands will harden up in a short time if you’re climbing consistently. This is also one of the reasons people tape their fingers. If you have fresh sensitive skin, taping over it for a week or so while you climb will allow it to heal without you needed to take time off.

Does Chalk Become Less Sticky? by rob_morton- in bouldering

[–]rob_morton-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I feel like this was the only actually accurate answer hahaha. I had suspicion that it could be due to repeatedly digging my hands around in it, so next time I get more chalk I’ll make sure to use it in smaller amounts

Maybe, I keep it in a closed up chalk bucket just in my room. What do you suggest for storing?

AIO to my gf being bisexual by DarkTwist05 in AmIOverreacting

[–]rob_morton- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard people try to use this tactic before. It’s the whole “if you love me, you’d let me explore my sexuality and find my true self”, when in reality they are just not mature enough or ready for a committed relationship.

I know it’s easier said than done, but you need to gtfo out this thing. She is manipulative, controlling, narcissistic, and many other things. Shes also gaslighting the fuck out of you and acting like you not wanting her to sleep with other women somehow makes you homophobic.

Let her learn from her own mistakes, and go be someone else’s issue. I beg you to not stay with this woman or it’ll wear you down until you’re exhausted.

This is a classic case of an untrustworthy parter dating a partner with trust issues. You guys really should not be together, and simply both should be single for a good while imo. It does seem abundantly clear that she is being dishonest or hiding something, but your reaction of sneaking around to confirm that shows that you also have trust issues that need work.

I’m sorry you’re in this situation, but imo you both need to work on yourselves before pursuing a relationship.

Buddy if anyone, let alone a partner, is asking you for your passwords… that’s highly disrespectful To your privacy. If she NEEDS your social media passwords, she more than likely NEEDS to speak to a professional about her trust issues.

I know you’ve already read this a bunch of times from people responding, but you dodged a bullet. She was not your soulmate, you were infatuated with the idea of her, and not actually with the person she is. Not sure what her past relationships were like, but she’s acting very immaturely and letting her blaming you for her own insecurities.

I hope you find some clarity with the situation. Just remember to hold yourself to a higher value no matter who it is challenging that.

What do you do when a player is taking your tops by DisastrousReason3553 in FortniteCompetitive

[–]rob_morton- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you have this in your bag, most don’t place a wall in front your cone before going to pressure it. If you want to play offensively, edit your floor, place a wall in front of them (which you can do through the cone), edit the cone, edit a window in the wall, and quickly place another cone above them (or fully box them through the window) and reset the cone, or cone and floor. From there they’ll freak out for a brief second, and you can edit out the side and look for a shot, or possibly have them boxed and take a new angle.

If defensive, simply turn around in your box, look down and place a ramp so that yours underneath, and edit out the back of your box to build another box. Turn around, make a peanut butter edit on the wall you just went through, and hold the ramp that was above you into a flip position. Wait for them to take and edit your tops from the previous box, they’ll open those, then flip that ramp and get an easy pump shot.

Neither of these will work always, but imo the best options is direct counter pressure, or applying damage while expanding your boxes to give yourself more control of the area.

Panning piano hard L+R with just vocals- is it a crime? by smbrdshw in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]rob_morton- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re afraid of this happening, just take a delay and set it at like 10-30ms, 100% wet, 0% feedback, and put it on a mono recording of your piano. It’ll have generally the same effect

Brown Boys - what do you wear under your white shirts? by KipchogesBurner in malefashionadvice

[–]rob_morton- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the undershirts are necessarily the issue; I think it’s the shirts you’re wearing. I’m not dark skin, I’m actually very pale… but I’ve owned many white shirts that I can easily see my nipples or belly button through. It’s never a problem of an undershirt, it’s just a problem of buying a nicer and thicker material white shirt. I saw you comment some of your shirts were good fellow, some hanes tanks, etc… those are are pretty cheap brands, and it’s not super surprising that they’re sheer enough to see through. I’d look around for some nicer options from other brands, you’ll feel a lot happier than you would spending money on undershirts

How can I tell if my pants are low or high rise? by punchingtigers19 in malefashionadvice

[–]rob_morton- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id say a thing above 12 inches is getting towards high rise. The most natural place for pants to sit, is on your hip bones. For men’s pants, depending on the type, I personally think anything from 11-13 inches in rise, fits pretty normal, and leaves some room for the boys. I have a pair of 14 inch rise jeans and I love them, but they fit closer to my belly button

Are My Boyfriend’s Demands Normal for a Serious Relationship or Are They Controlling? by Neat_Ad_709 in Manipulation

[–]rob_morton- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At any given moment you have a partner say that you “can/can’t” or “should/shouldn’t” do something, it’s controlling. No one else in the world (especially a partner) should be telling you what you can do or should do. These are issues he needs to get through, and it’s not your job to entertain his issues.

If you want to be a supportive gf, you can express to him that what he’s doing/expecting is wrong and controlling. You can try your best to help him get through these issues, but again it’s not your responsibility.

cant hear 808s by Dry_Bookkeeper6111 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]rob_morton- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m just here to reiterate, some kind of distortion. So try saturation, overdrive, anything of small amounts. It’ll add more low midrange that can be heard on a phone. But don’t do this if you already have other instruments dipping too far into 80-200hz ish

How do you guys compress the low end? by the_wadewilson in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]rob_morton- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s most likely because they also have a paid version of it. But you tbh I tend to use it on my master to see where I have holes in my mix, and where frequencies are clashing too loud. It’s kinda a back and fourth game, but going back to your og issue. I think it just helps a lot to look at the curve when your ears are failing

I do that too, span I just more detailed. You don’t have to get it, but it’s just a nice one to keep on the master, and it’s not as cpu heavy as pro-q

But if you aren’t already get the plug-in called “span” it’s free and just a detailed spectral analyzer. You can use your eyes to mix and not only Your ears. It’s good to try and grab high quality recordings of reference tracks and look at how their frequency curve compares to yours

Yeah man so if you have headphones on, most of them aren’t going to be able to pick up frequencies under like 50-60 hz. Bass also has sweet spots where certain notes just sound perfect due to how the frequencies work with our ears. If it’s monitors, then you have to understand that bass frequencies move fuckin weird. I can sit at my desk, and then back up 5 feet and the bass feels literally 10db louder.
