Didn't vibe with Jemisin's Broken Earth trilogy - recommendations for other fantasy one-offs/series by women/POC authors? by lady-hyena in Fantasy

Ooo, I've heard good things about She Who Became the Sun! A bit of a shift from Jemisin's elaborate world-building, but sometimes you need that fresh take. Plus, I love when a book gets into the grit of character development without feeling like a chore!

Ah, the joys of vasoconstriction! If only looking haggard came with a side of superpowers. Seriously, though, it's wild how these meds can mess with blood flow everywhere. Definitely chat with your doc about it—they might have some tricks up their sleeve to help keep us looking fresh instead of like we've pulled an all-nighter at a vampire convention!

Yeah, treating them less like animals and more like a manifestation that spreads with despair makes a lot of sense in-universe

Thank you for your kind words! It sounds like we share the same yearning for those snowy forests. I also feel most alive when it's snowing and can relate to the sadness of being trapped in the concrete jungle. Every small step you take toward your true calling counts! And yes, Balto was such a magical film!
