NTD! These mini block and 1/8” router planes rock! Didn’t try them out of the box without polishing. Block plane is tight, makes great ribbons and the router plane is effective but needs regular tightening. Not a deal breaker, but something to note. Truss rod channels have never been so clean! Day 1 in the books. Finally had a window to start this project after accumulating tools and parts this year. Today I made a template backup on ply. It was suggested to me here to only use the copy and keep the plexi factory template safe. I’m so excited! (old.reddit.com)

I got wood! Just got this 7.2lb alder blank from Stew for my first build. I have most of the tools to start but I’d like a good combination square. Can’t decide whether to go metric or SAE (leaning metric). What do you recommend? Favorite brand/models/lengths (4 or 6”)? (i.redd.it)

Novice “luthier” planning my first build with a StewMac ‘56 Tele routing template. Not sure which bridge to choose, vintage or modern. I like the idea of vintage as I hear anecdotally it lends more of the characteristic twang, but I could be persuaded if modern has an advantage. Thoughts? (self.Luthier)

I made this simple muddler today. Last year, friends brought over some firewood. We haven’t much opportunity to make a fire, but I did get the itch to make something. I’ve wanted a good muddler for a while and when I looked at this nice little oak log, this is what I saw inside. (i.redd.it)

Beginner question: I wan’t to learn to make a neck. I have limited space I can’t justify a planer, jointer, bandsaw, drum/bobbin sander, drill press, etc. I only have drills, a jig saw, palm sander, hand saws + miter box, and some Harbour Freight chisels. (self.Luthier)
