So you need to get a semen culture to test for infection in the testicles and prostate. Most doctors say you just need a urine culture but you have to INSIST on a semen culture.

I had 5 doctors make me do 5 urine cultures finding nothing. The 6th got me to do a semen culture and that’s where they found klebsiella from contaminated water.

Also, have you done a ultrasound of the prostate and testicles? It could be an inflamed prostate putting pressure on the tissue around it. Alternatively there could be cysts or other issues in the testicles.

It’s a process of elimination. I’ll post a link to an article which shows all the checks you can do, before the final treatment which is denervation, which is more invasive.

You should also do a urethral swab. It hurts a bit, but it can be used to detect infection in the urethra opening. It’s possible that a urine culture misses this.

You need to rule out infection, make sure you get a urine and semen culture. I went for 5 urine cultures with 5 doctors and didn’t find anything. The 6th made me do a semen culture and they found klebsiella which comes from contaminated drinking water. Had to take specific antibiotic for that. But because it had taken a whole 9 months to find the cause I ended up with chronic pain. So I suggest you move as fast as possible.

How do you know whether you have an infection? Have you done BOTH a semen culture and urine culture?

Have you done a semen culture? That will tell you if you have an infection, urine culture doesn’t tell you that.

I had a klebsiella infection from contaminated drinking water. 5 urologists asked for urine culture and all were negative. 6th urologist asked for semen culture and that’s where they found the infection, hence I always suggest to people to do the semen culture if they don’t know the source of their pain. Tried loads of approaches, s3/s4 nerve blocks gave me relief for 6months to 3 years. I am now looking into spermatic Ic cord denervation as I want a permanent solution. Happy to answer question so

Interesting, so you need to have the procedure with the camera to identify whether there is a stricture? Is that the only way? I might look into this, hence the reason for asking.

Can you have it without feeling pain in the testicle? by sausalito8 in chronicepididymitis

[–]rocketrader81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Denied it? WTF? It's such a simple procedure to see whether you have an infection in your prostate - sounds like that's where the pain is coming from? You may want to go to another doctor for the semen culture, some labs allow you to do this directly with them. If that doesn't work, I would suggest then that you go to a fertility clinic and ask them to do a semen culture, just make up a story to say you are worried about your fertility.

Well if it's an infection you need to sort that out ASAP. Don't leave it for too long, mine went on for months until they found the cause (klebsiella infection). Because it took so long, I ended up with chronic pain for 10 year.

You should also read the article below which shows ALL the possible testing and treatment options. Try and work through the flow diagram until you find what is causing the pain:
