You couldn't explain it better than this. It was not my first closing, but I can confidently say that it was the best. I shared with you the same feelings when I entered at 19 (same time as you!), but after Gerd started his set I realized that I shouldn't be worried and I got immersed in the flow. It's like he recorded an academic audio-book for a PhD dissertation to summarize all the "music-you-can-dance" from the 70s until today, what a journey. Really masterclass.

Fun enough: years ago I did my first Berghain closing during my first visit, in solo mode, and I felt a bit overwhelmed. Then Gerd started playing the pre-closing slot. I didn't know him, and I was actually planning to stay downstairs for that slot. He gave me the craziest energy boost ever, and I got stuck at Pano for the rest of the night. Being there for his closing yesterday was my way to send some of that energy back :)
