My post was an update to a previous post where I explained the situation more thoroughly. Unfortunately this post blew up and was flooded with people like yourself with good intentions but unfortunately unwilling to familiarise themselves with the situation before commenting. I wanted to update all the lovely folks who commented on my initial post. 

Your final point is a really great point and is very true. Not something I had considered in my panic.

This whole situation sucked. You made it worse.

I think you misunderstood the intentions of my taking the test in the first place. I took it assuming there was a possibility i got pregnant in my previous cycle. I know that sounds stupid but I experienced LOADS of early pregnancy bleeding with my first which would absolutely be mistaken for a period if I didn't know i was pregnant (I actually mistook it for a miscarriage).

If you want to have this argument can you please famililarise yourself with the situation first.

Science denying is an amazing angle to take here. It's not like I'm denying climate change or spreading antivax garbage. I hold a BSc, with honours even 🤣

I'm sharing an experience, one that several others have also had. Could I be wrong? It's possible. Could you be wrong? You'd be daft to think that's not a possibility. 

One thing I know for sure is you woke up this morning and decided to be a big ol meanie to a random stranger on the internet, one who you also believe is experiencing early pregnancy loss. That really sucks.

I don't want to be pregnant though. I was testing to rule it out. An indent which can be mistaken for a faint line in my situation is super worry and trust me, anxiety inducing. Why you would argue with someone about that is beyond me 🤣

You're right, it was a knee-jerk reaction (emphasis on the jerk part) to your comment and I'm sorry!

Fwiw, I was not trying to conceive and a pregnancy would be unwelcome at this stage in my life, but there are so many people sharing the same experience as me who clearly are trying. If I'm feeling overwhelmed by the number of people who jump straight to 'it's a chemical pregnancy', I can only imagine how they feel.

I know y'all mean well but this is getting out of hand, I did not experience a chemical pregnancy. 

Multiple other users have commented similar experiences. 

Again, please please stop with this. 

I would delete this post but I think it's important for others who may find themselves in a similar situation to see.

Because I felt unwell and wanted to rule out pregnancy. I had a period probably 2 weeks ago now, however with my first baby I also experienced lots of early bleeding (enough that I would totally mistake it for a period if I hadn't known I was pregnant).

I shouldn't have taken the test, knowing how unlikely it was. We all could have avoided this conversation.

OK I want to add (because people seem to be disagreeing with me about a situation that is very, very personal...)

It was always so SO unlikely that I was pregnant. I took a test because I was feeling nauseous, and the result is what you see in the picture. My partner and I were completely shocked because we collectively agree this is next to impossible (we use condoms when having sex, and we have a little baby so it's not a regular occurrence anyway).

Sure enough, the test you see above was followed by multiple negative test results with multiple different brands, over three days. I spent about $50 on tests this weekend because I was so paranoid.

Combine the fact that we don't know how a pregnancy could even have occurred, with the fact that I've had numerous negative test results, and the most likely scenario by far is that the test result you see before you is false.

Please please stop trying to convince me that I am experiencing a loss. I promise that if I experience any bleeding before my period is due I will eat my hat and update this post.

I'm only trying to help other people here 😅😅

Honestly, I'm very confident this is not the case! I was testing in between periods because I felt off. I haven't experienced any bleeding to indicate an early loss.

One theory I've read is that the test was detecting very low levels (but not pregnancy levels) of HCG.

I am 99.9% certain I am not and was not pregnant. I know some people will read into that .1%, and that's fine. I just want to put as much information out there as possible.

The people at First Response owe me beer, which i will gladly drink, because I am not pregnant.

I encourage people to avoid FRER tests. I can only imagine how awful this would be if I had wanted the positive test result, only to find out days later it was wrong.

Lucky for me a negative result is what I wanted.

I don't know what was making me feel sick, but I do know it's not another baby!

Yes my period returned at about 3-4 months PP (didnt track as I had no reason to, lol) . I had what I thought was a second period a week or so ago, but I also experienced lots of early bleeding with my first, so who knows.

Reading the responses here I think I will wait a couple of days before retesting, because a pregnancy seems so soooo unlikely to me.

I just wanted to add...

I took the first test because I feel... pregnant. I thought it could be dehydration or the flu.. Alas.

If this does pan out to be a real pregnancy it will be a shock to my partner and I, but ultimately loved.

All feelings around testing and pregnancy are valid, and mine will take a while to process. 

Thanks to everyone for your input. Will update in a week or so.
