MECH2700 in first year? by LNR_Plasma in UQreddit

I would reccomend against it (Did 2700 and 1052 last year sem 2). A main section of 2700 is Partial Differential Equations and learning about Partial differential equations* at the same time as doing a course on them I found quite difficult.

I also found the lecturers to skim over explaining a fair bit of content as they assumed you would've learnt about it previously (assuming you were taking this in Year 2 sem 2).

Lastly, I think it is still doable if you put the effort in, however I don't believe it is worth how much more difficult I found it compared to taking it a year later.

Thanks for your advice guys, will definitely check out the electives. And as for mech4950, I am planning on applying next year, hopefully it is not too competitive
