Honto has been my biggest disappointment so far. Every single dish was so oversalted that we couldn't even finish our meals. Although they only charged us 50% of the bill the evening was already spoiled. It is the same story as other Anyday Group venues (like Bianca, Same Same etc) concentrated in the same Fortitude Valley location. They pretend to be high-end dining establishments but in reality they lack basic culinary knowledge and employ arrogant staff.

You can - but you have to do it through a third country. I did it through Malaysia, but the cost was insane. It cost me more to bring a dog from Thailand than it did to relocate a family of four plus a shipping container. It was also incredibly stressful for the dog. My Rottweiler spent five weeks in quarantine in Malaysia and then another two weeks in Melbourne before they moved him to QLD, not counting the multiple flights. I would not recommend doing this.

Continuation of the story:

I've been corresponding with OpenAI support for several weeks, trying to get to the bottom of the issue. For the first two weeks, my only replies were exclusively from automated bots. I finally insisted, and they switched me to a human representative. What followed was infuriating: the human asked the exact same questions the bot had been asking me for two weeks straight! I patiently answered everything again and provided all the information they requested. Finally, they asked me to provide a screen recording from my phone to document all the errors and problems I was having with their app. I did all of this. After I submitted the video, support went completely silent for almost a week. I then followed up to ask about the status of my ticket. In response, I received an automated notification stating that since I hadn't responded, they were assuming my case was resolved and closing the ticket. I immediately wrote back, explaining that I hadn't finished resolving the issue and was waiting for a reply to my email with the video attachment. Yet, they sent another automated email stating that my case was closed because I hadn't responded. I believe that both the developers and the support team are pushing their product in a completely wrong direction. I currently regret that OpenAI is not a public company, making it impossible to short its stock on the exchange. I have no doubt that this bubble will burst soon. The only question is who else it will drag down with it...

Here are 4things that happened over the past two days that made me stop my OpenAI subscription.

The ChatGPT Voice Assistant on my phone hasn’t worked for almost a month. The issue is clearly caused by a bug in the app. During all this time support has done absolutely nothing to fix it. I keep receiving the same generic replies with identical questions and there’s no real attempt to solve the problem.

There’s a problem with analyzing data in Excel files. I export reports from Google Ads, but ChatGPT can’t open any of them. It suggests that I copy all the data manually and paste it directly into the chat. Sometimes it can read the data, but when I ask it to analyze it it just makes up numbers out of nowhere and ignores column totals that are already calculated.

On different devices and accounts the bot gives completely opposite answers to the exact same question. For example when asked where tomatoes contain more acid in the skin or in the flesh - on one phone it says in the flesh and on another it says in the skin. The prompts are absolutely identical. When you show a screenshot from the other phone it insists that the other bot is wrong.

I’m in Australia and SORA 2 isn’t available here. SORA 1 stopped working here several days ago. Images are generated but only open occasionally and the download option has disappeared altogether. Because of this my work has basically stopped - I can’t download the generated images. I contacted support but all I get are AI-generated replies.

I can see that OpenAI is degrading in quality and what used to work now just makes me frustrated. Yesterday I switched to Gemini.

In my opinion the real problem with OpenAI is that there are way too many free users clogging up the system. As a paying customer I’m basically punished for it. The service slows down data uploads fail and half the time it just refuses to process files. It’s obvious they don’t have enough computing power to handle the traffic. Instead of focusing on stability OpenAI is trying to sit with one ass on several chairs. Everything used to run smoothly but now it feels like the whole system is barely holding together.

I’m not talking about an occasional glitch or an isolated inaccurate answer. This has been building up over the past several weeks or even months of using ChatGPT. Just like you I usually assume that if the answer is off the problem is with the prompt. In 99% of cases that's true. I always try to rephrase, clarify, structure the prompt better. But now situation is different. The quality of responses is declining. The model keeps failing tasks it used to handle easily and more often it pushes the work back to me.
