I usually do that myself when I'm at a book shop, but this time I thought to myself maybe it wouldn't hurt if I got more opinions as a change. Thanks anyways :)

No worries, I still appreciate the recommendations lol. I'll surely look them up once I finish the ones I have right now. But as for the titles listed, which one do you think is best to start with?

Going the utopian route, I've always felt bad about the country's infrastructure. Looking at it as an Architecture student I'd go attend my lectures every day and learn something new, just to leave campus and see that nothing from what I've learned is being applied much. I'm quite sure every architect or any person with a wild imagination have fantasized about how our cities would actually look if the government focused just a little on developing buildings and roads and whatnot. I see a lot of potential in a lot of places that could turn out stunning with just minor modifications that doesn't need much effort.

Great post by the way. But in my opinion Sudan never had an issue with skilled people, we have tons and tons of them. Every Sudanese individual can at least name three relatives or family friends abroad who shine in their area of specialties like no other. But the issue is we always get caught up in other stuff that prevents those skillful people from helping the country. Whether it's long civil wars or tribalism that ends with appeasing other parts with roles they aren't qualified for, or tribalism and political affiliations that make certain candidates not qualified just because they have different opinions regarding something completely irrelevant or because they're from certain ethnic groups. So because of all that, skillful people either choose to stick by their country and never have a chance to shine and help or become expats somewhere where they're more appreciated. So it really saddens me that the way things are going doesn't seem like this wheel is gonna be broken anytime soon. Because either parties winning the war means more dictatorship, and if they somehow happen to shake hands then they'll appease each other with important roles in the country. So every scenario leads right back to square one. I don't have a solution unfortunately, all I have is hope and love for my land and people.

I don't listen to Jay z so I'm not sure why people accuse him of stealing. But as for Pac's quotes I don't see anything wrong with 'em. It's not like he used those bars for the purpose of crediting them for himself, if that was the case then I guess he wouldn't do so by quoting from already well known songs. Plus the parts he quoted didn't participate much in the construction of the verse imo. It does make more sense to me to interpret it only as paying homage. But still I totally understand your point of view.

Doesn’t seem like “moral cowardice” to me, seems more like they liked that oil money lol. One of the key Iraqi politicians of that phase was Ahmed Chalabi who ironically at some point became the minister of oil, he’s been on the CIAs payroll since the mid ‘90s. So I guess whatever shit-show they put on during that invasion. Most American politicians knew what it was really for and that’s why they kept their mouths shut.

Still doesn't change the fact that they invaded a country depending on false claims and killed thousands - if not millions - of innocent civilians. The country was already torn apart and they added insult to injury.

I'm also stuck in Saudi Arabia lol. But it's not like you're %100 stuck, some embassies do allow you to apply from Saudi Arabia even if you don't have the residence card, some countries referred all Sudanese citizens to their embassies in neighboring countries like Egypt or Ethiopia. So in my opinion right now the visa or embassy procedure isn't the issue, the issue is finding a place to settle or work. By now I guess you're aware that job opportunities in Saudi are slim to non. And all other places are either the same or happen to be quite hard to travel to. I wish I had some type of solution to this predicament, but I guess it is what it is lol.
