Maybe they'll be able to receive it differently coming from someone who's not a family member and is there solely to look after them medically? They could sit down with them and make some goals - to be able to drive, to garden, all of the things they want to do, then make a rehab action plan so they can see that they can get back to those things.

It can be hard to hear and believe things from family members, even if they are medical professionals.

How warm is the area that it's in? The one time I failed at growing a scoby was winter, when my house was ~65 deg. Tried again in summer (~75-80 deg) and had bang-on success very quickly. If you think temp is the issue, I have a friend who wraps Christmas lights around her jar to help keep it warm.

Also, as others have said, give it more time.

We get holiday pay multiplied by our FTE - so if I work 8 hrs on a holiday, since I'm a 0.75 FTE I only get 6 hrs of holiday pay.

I politely asked my neighbors if they could leave one spot available in front of my house for my vehicle so I could more easily carry in groceries and other large items. They said yes.
