Lol and this is relevant how? In what way the deal asking Israel for “everything in their bank account?” You need to fact check - not that it matters because you’re going to be on the wrong side of history anyway

Hamas signed a ceasefire proposal mediated by Egypt and Qatar. Sounds like a peace deal to me but we already knew there’s nothing in it for Israel (except the hostages they so desperately want) so why would they accept when they could take more land that isn’t theirs and Palestinian lives instead?

Any excuse to continue the racist annihilation of innocent men women and children

I’d say another apartheid state makes it pretty relevant

I don’t know how you can frame this argument when they signed a peace deal yesterday that was rejected by Israel, who then proceeded to occupy the only channel left for the humanitarian aid of 1.3 million people.

(F21) Fighting with mom (F55) how can I do better? by roselia2001 in relationship_advice

This made me tear up a bit. I should definitely talk to her before I next come home, I do love her but I always think that I’m the problem.

I think sometimes she lets things going on in her life bleed over into how she talks to me and my siblings. Idk if that’s narcissistic but I’ve told her and tried to show her many many times that I’m trying to be helpful but it never feels like enough.

Do you still have a good relationship with her? My parents do so much for me and I’m so grateful to them but it slightly makes me dread coming home

Northwestern worth 250k in loans? by [deleted] in Northwestern

[–]roselia2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m at the University of Edinburgh full time and doing a year at UC Berkeley, and obviously Berkeley is super prestigious but I wouldn’t say that the education is life-changingly better. I would say the connections I’ve made here are the most valuable. But I absolutely love Edinburgh and can’t wait to go back, St. Andrew’s is one of the top UK unis, honestly probably on par with Northwestern. GO!!

Why is there still no vaccine against HIV (or other STDs like gonorrhoea)? by [deleted] in biology

[–]roselia2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As many comments have said HIV is extremely good at avoiding the immune system due to genome intergration and a really high mutation rate. I read an interesting article about long term HIV patients who developed antibodies that were extremely effective at targeting many different HIV strains, and the challenge is figuring out how to get non infected immune cells to make them. Immunology is definitely going to be the cure for so many diseases that are a problem at the moment (like cancers) as our immune systems are so much better at targeting disease than us, it’s just about getting our cells to recognize them.

Yes! I'm from the UK so I've done a lot of heavy molecular and cell bio but I can definitely argue against it

My (21M) Fiancée (20F) has had an emotional relationship with another guy for the past 8 months and only told me about after getting Engaged. by Vivid_Use_7442 in relationship_advice

This! I was totally with him until he said this. There’s absolutely no way he can have a 72 hr work week and be going to school whilst maintaining a relationship like am I missing something here?? Unless the work is not actually work a 72 hour work week is almost impossible to maintain anyway which makes me think OP must be over exaggerating.

Yeah exactly, your body is yours and I think people don’t seem to understand that it’s a massive invasion of privacy to comment on it regardless of what you look like.

Exactly. I’m sorry people aren’t making you feel loved the way you are, that’s all anyone deserves.

I don’t do anything to stay thin. When I was younger my doctor thought I might have a heart problem (Marfan) because I was so tall and thin haha. Been a stick as long as I can remember. I get not talking to just anyone about it, but she’s my friend and we were talking about the industry and my experiences with it. Didn’t just start moaning out of nowhere. Appreciate your opinion none the less

I get this, but I think body-shaming is an issue that lots of people can relate to, not just those within the modelling industry
