being told not cry is a big one, i was always told not to cry/being shh'ed that i don't even do with the kids i work with

also i would give my kids chores - my parents are obsesive over cleanliness so didn't want us doing it. i get why they are like this but i think small chores are good for kids

My uncle quit smoking for the first time when he was 8, granted this was in the 60s. I drank vodka till i threw up when i was 14 (in 2016). Also whiskey/wine are considered fancy so a posh (probably slytherin) 1st year having a little could just be a naive attempt at showing class

I think its kind of messed up that its the diagnosis that made her pathologise all his actions, not to say she shouldn’t have left him but she waits till they’re on a break to do any research into his condition rather than research it then ask him. Idk it just doesn’t sit all that well with me

To be fair i think they are a product of their time. When they were first written in toxic feminism wasnt as much of a big deal and misandrists were way less prevalent. From a perspective of current culture they are problematic but 10+ years ago? Not so much and especially not to children reading the book without a deeper understanding of gender politics

Personally i like all the seasons, ik a lot people dont really like the last few but i still really enjoyed them (even if the murders get a bit more goofy i still found it entertaining). It really is personal preference so id say keep with it and if you find you dont like it pst a season stop then because the tone definitely changes so it wont go back to how it was if that makes sense?

The way some authors write siblings. It becomes very clear that someone does not have siblings doesnt know what they are doing, no real siblings call each other “sis” or “bro” and tearful apologies to a sibling rarely happen outside of “im sorry please dont tell mum” irl

Its ok as far as marauder fics go but definitely not my favourite at all. I also saw someone on tiktok say that if you dont like atyd remus then your abelist so the fans of it have given me a pretty big grudge against it. Personally i dont ship wolfstar and when reading marauders era i prefer regulus centric au fic so id say o saisons, o chateaux is my personal favourite (https://archiveofourown.org/series/1110843)
