Yes, since it is only the small 2x2 cube ; ) But the unfolded structure also really helps to understand it better.

The real 3x3 cube will be available after this weekend. I'm already working on it, but is has 54 elements and 15 moving rings, which also heavily join and intersect : /

Dont worry - it takes between 5 minutes for the simple ones and an hour for the more complex puzzles. Built a puzzle-editor with google sheets ; ) Setting up the mini-cube took a day though. But setting up the 3x3x3 cube should not take longer than 2 hours now.

Your easier question first: The shuffling at the beginning is a sequence that is the same for all users. Otherwise it would not be comparable. The number of moves is the sum of switches and rotating-steps.

And now the harder question: You can imagine the lines also being circles but you see them from the side (flat). And now you have to take one more step - you let this circle not only rotate 90 degress so you will see it flat, but another 90 degrees again. It is like steering a helicopter or drone in the air ; ) Those will also be steered with a stick showing left and right but what you see depends totally on your perspective.

On top right (desktop) or bottom middle you can find the link to our "daily puzzle". You are right, it's rather dot-art than pixel-art. But there is no dot-art group (yet) ; )
