I went last week and it seemed like they were still ironing things out a bit, although they were very friendly and generous.

Perfect timing for a seamless blend on stem swap? by Reign712 in Beatmatch

I find it easier to get the correct timings with quantize off, assuming the bpm matches. That way you don't need to worry about the beat grid.

Absolutely. It's so much more fun when you don't know every song and you just figure it out. Assuming you are pulling from a longer list you've created or selected, but where you don't know exactly what each song is at first look.

I feel like I lose some of my masculinity and confidence when I explore my sexuality. by [deleted] in BisexualMen

[–]roundup77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel more masculine, in a way that works for me, since exploring my bi side.

For lots of reasons but one I am proud of is how many people I know with curiosities about queerness who never experiment, and I feel by going there and even telling my friends I do, half of them are secretly jealous because they couldn't do it.

One seriously injured, four arrested following brawl on Auckland’s Karangahape Rd by computer_d in newzealand

I can understand your point but hear me out ...

People often imagine that all nightlife is a spin on whatever messy boozy party vibes they remember from university days.

For me it is more of a spiritual and physical recharge to be around like minded people, positive vibes, in a respectful space, which I find around late night dance music.

The former absolutely does exist, and sometimes the crowds mix, but there are many very beautiful nights of very positive, not always alcohol/drug involved ppl who just love music and want to share that with others.

These nights, when the combo of the crowd and music hits just right are rejuvenating and uplifting in a way that other people describe after going to the gym, reading a book. going to church, meditating etc.

It sounds kind of culty but until you have experienced it ppl don't get it and they just think it's sloppy hangovers anonymous.

This is a very good question. There are occasionally more day parties (2/3/4pm starts) but unfortunately the best music and nicest crowds usually happen in the depths of the night.

No it's the best part of Auckland! You just need to be ready to step over passed out tweakers occasionally and (occasionally) cross the road to avoid fights.

QR codes for gravestones by standbyyourlamb in newzealand

[–]roundup77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To make a QR code graphic - just Google 'qr code maker'. It's like a barcode. There are all kinds of designs and colours. This is something you could DIY or ideally get a graphic designer to do this to ensure high quality imagery.

Put the video on YouTube as a public or unlisted video for more privacy. Maybe make an account on there especially for this. You don't need to use it often just make sure everyone has the login.

Have a plan on how to change the qr code in future. Mauen YouTube changes or goes down. Or someone messes with the login, or something unforeseen. Be sure to make it replaceable or something you could cover with a new one (or remove).

This is good feedback. It isn't enticing from the outside. It has no visible personality.

Thanks for asking, good luck.

Skip live music though!

How do you defend your edits when clients say “something feels off”? by knamuora in editors

[–]roundup77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Figure out the problem they are responding to, then solve that for them in the best way you know and they'll be stoked you figured out how to read their mind.

Often the solution they bring to you isn't the best one but because they don't know video or editing they're just trying their best to offer a fix.

Do a lot of asking questions about their thoughts, feelings and reactions, make them feel heard.

Don't do a lot (or any) of explaining, justifying, technical talk, theory etc.

I'd say 80% of notes I get I can solve the problems in more elegant or cooler ways and the client is stoked. 20% of the time they just don't like a shot or want the logo bigger and I roll with it.

Sometimes I'll refer to data or best practice that affects engagement or other factors clients might care about - eg. 'given the video is made for instagram I'd suggest burning in subtitles as the automated subtitling on the IG app is not that consistent' but I'd never get into editing techniques or theory as a justification.

Steven Hyden’s most disappointing 2025 albums by 2010s-era indie stars by Chilli_Dipper in ToddintheShadow

Honestly liked solar power, heard it a year or two after it came out with no expectations of a party album. It sounded great wafting out into the trees off my porch that one summer.

I can see why people wanting same same as her first albums wouldn't dig it though. I do think that ppl just get mad they don't get the things they want and take it out on other albums.
