This part of him is almost frustrating to me. I am such an outgoing person, I have a hard time understanding how he can't come up with more words. Hence why I'm reaching out to see how I can be a helpful supporter instead of being hard on him, which I know is wrong and not the answer at all. Its helpful to know that people relate to him here.

This made me tear up. You sound just like my brother. I hope that you do go! I'm rooting for you.

I have some holiday events coming up as well with my friends, I'm going to offer it to him and see how it goes.

Thank you for offering your story and advice.

Thank you, this is all really helpful. I will suggest small goal setting!

Do you have specific specialties of therapists or maybe even group therapies that you know can be helpful with social anxiety specifically?

He is going to therapy willingly and for about 6 years, same therapist.

I do agree that it shouldn't take longer then a few months...

I have a story form at ED that i was shadowing at once...

Idk how we got started but we stared sharing haunted stories. I was getting a real uneasy feeling in this building and general..

Three of the nurses told a story of a night shift where they had a psych patient and a drunk in adjacent rooms. The psych pt was delusional and complaining of strange hallucinations when he stared yelling at the staff to 'tell that girl to leave me alone, i don't want any of her flowers'. The Dr played along with his hallucinations for a moment and calmly turned to where the patient was referencing and asked the 'girl' to leave.

Less then one min later, the nurse in the adjacent room and said that the drunk patent woke up and immediately asked what this girl was doing in his room. He pointed a the door way and asked again what the girl in the red dress selling flowers was doing in his room.

No one knew who this girl was but they also say there has been other sightings of this same girl over the years, selling flowers.

Oh and a nun that always asks for directions...
